first string secondary looked, um, not great. DL/OL looked good overall though, so did our qbs.

graham is gone, and if I had to pick WRs just off that game, aldrick, hankerson, and dnp kelly would be gone.

kerrigan will be good by week 6, hankerson might figure it out next year... i don't know, i was REALLY not impressed.

I dont think Shanny is gonna keep Hankerson simply because he's a 3rd rounder. If he thinks one of the other guys deserves a shot over him he's gonna give it to them.

ATV will make the team and will back up Tim Hightower. How quickly we forget how ATV ran last season. Now we have a good 1-2 punch with Hightower/ATV.

Depends how hard Hankerson works on and off of the field, see Malcolm Kelly. Jot many coaches will cut a 3rd rounder if for nothing else but to keep from admitting that they evaluated/coached them horribly. He will be okay, just gotta work on the hands. He's only been under the tutelage of our coaching staff for a few weeks.

As much as I would love to get hyped about how we play in preseason, I can't allow myself too. The preseason and the regular season are two completely different seasons. Even the speed of the game is different. With all that said, it's nice to see us not stink up the joint in our first preseason game, but again, this game means nothing. Preseason means coaches can evaluate the players and see who can translate everything they learned on the field during a game. Preseason is very vanilla but because of the LOCK OUT preseason this year is very important to see who will make the tail end of the rosters. I will watch the game Saturday on DTV. I saw some of the highlights on NFL Network and I like how the O-Line gave the QB's time in the pocket.

I still the the WR postion is still very unsettled for the last few spots.
As of now the WR who will make the 53 man roster as follow
1.Moss
2.AA
3.Gaffney
4.Hankerson
5.?
6?
Hankerson will be given every chance to make the opening day roster, with 3 remaining preseason games to impress the coaches.

He was getting his head around late, it was his first NFL game, he will be fine.

Royster seems to know the plays and he follows his blockers well. That's about it. He lacks speed, quickness, and explosion. Right now, he's just a lesser version of ATV.

Helu has the speed and quickness that this team could use from one of its backs. I'm hoping that he develops and is able to provide us with a big play threat, both running and receiving, out of the backfield.

Stallworth played very well last nite, he is def in the equation for the team.

But come on. Their starters barely played. Our starting offense played the entire first half against Pitt's #2's with the exception of a series or two, and it was 7-7 tie at halftime. Not exactly bragging material.

I was saying it mostly in jest. Still, had we looked like dog shit the haters would be out in full force.

There were a lot of positives to take from that game.
