Sometimes it's best to leave the cap talk to the pros. ^

Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
^^ True enough. With that said, this site has amazing cap analysts in Schneed and Canuck. For Redskin specific info, the resources on this site are simply excellent.
When you get right down to it, given these on-site resources, it really is inexcusable to start arguing about salary cap issues without first, at least, taking a good hard look at the info Schneed and Canuck work so hard at providing us.

The Skins are at least the 7th team he's visited in FA. He had offseason surgery to repair a torn labrum which might be a factor in his not being signed yet. We know he's not going back to Oakland because they signed Hudson to play C.

What's the deal with Wisniewski? No one has signed him and Oakland let him walk. Either he's just so so or he's asking for too much.

Who should we go for in Free Agency?
Or that shoulder isn't right.
He might have to take a one year prove it deal. |

Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
My guess is that shoulder isn't all the way yet and he'll need to wait a little longer to get anything more than the aforementioned show-me deal. He's maybe a size and age upgrade over KL. Similar versatility...but probably better at C like KL. If the shoulder is right then a short deal at 3-4 a year is reasonable. We'll see. Not a hot spot to upgrade. KL was OK.

Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
Wis to center, lich to G, chester to door.
but i imagine if he will lower his demands and accept 3 per, he would be choosing btw us, sea, and a few others. not sure we win that popularity contest .... but we won the pot roast contest so who knows. |

Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
Don't think JG sees KL as a viable G. He likes big guys. Hence us over-paying just to get a mediocre LG last year.
But I'd rather have a giant dick cutout playing RG than Chester so yeah whatever. |

Re: Who should we go for in Free Agency?
I would really like to know what SM thinks of Moses and Long. How he drafts might be a good indicator. It's best player available, but according to a lot of analysts what you have on the roster matters in how a team evaluates who is best.
KL didn't have many fans after 2013 playing G but was arguably our best OL last year because of Trent's injury struggles. Switching positions helped minimize the impact of his small stature. He is a natural C and will be more than just a stop gap if he stays at C this year. He would not do well going back to G imo, especially if the intention is to focus more on the power running game. |

Not a big fan of signing Wiesniewski unless McCloughan thinks he's a significant upgrade over Kory. But Kory was really good at center and is only 30. He can still be an impact player for a few more years. |
