Furthermore, on the subject of Norv, I couldn't agree more. He is a horrible HC. Can't motivate, is too soft on the players, and can't seem to garner their respect because he's too busy trying to be everyone's best friend. As an OC, he is an incredible offensive mind. Give him a top flite running back, tight end, and QB and he'll put together a solid offense for you. We'll see what happens with Lloyd. There's lots of nay-sayers out there, no doubt, but then again everyone said that trading Moss for Coles would be a bust. Well it was for the Jets at least. We got a pro-bowl receiver out of the deal and the Jets got a Toe-bowl receiver. We're giving up a 3rd RD and 4th RD (don't listen to what the Post says, 90% of the time they make up stories on the laptop as they go along and call it news) so I feel it's pretty even in terms of value. We'll see if he's got the stuff to be the #2. I think there's going to be some heated competition for that position in SC and he'll be one of the contenders.

They not only have Norv, they also have Vanilla Ice Cream Man. Remember all the stuff he spewed last year about our team when he was hired. Guess the butt whipping didn't teach him a lesson. I would say good luck to the 9er fan but really I hope they go 0-16. For criss sake it is Norv and Nolan.

Re: Good luck with B-Lloyd
I really don't know how you can say that lloyd isn't a down field reciever because it looks to me that he can be. Anyway, lloyd will be a third reciever, second at best so I don't think that we need him to have the weight of the recieving core on his shoulders like he did in san fran.
David Patten will be back from injuries and he can catch balls anywhere on the field. Lloyd's speed and quickness will give us options in the passing game that teams have to respect and that will open up the field for everyone else. For a third and fourth round pick that is a bargain. Considering that our last reciever pick was Taylor Jacobs in the second round I am more than happy picking up a free agent than an unknown third round rookie. Good luck with the picks niner but I think we got the best of this deal. "I know we don't have any Dallas people here -- they are the ugliest people in the world." - Joe Gibbs |

Coach Gibbs and crew will straighten his attitude out and he knows how to get that pigskin.
We'll be fine, thanks for your concern 9erman. |

Re: Good luck with B-Lloyd
I have to wonder what it will be like to be moved to another team, on another coast, to back up a receiver like Moss? I think that I can understand how Lloyd might not be focused when the team is losing all the time. Guys like that tend to do better (mentally) when they are around veteren players than they do around a young group like the 49ers have now. Let's see what people say about his work ethic come off season workouts...

none of the nay sayers said anything bad about moss's attitude (quite the oppossite), just that they thought cole was better (the jets fans didn't know we gave him back with only 8 fingers and 9 toes), and santana went out of bounds too often (which he didn't here, but we never threw between the numbers either) and that he had yearly hamstring issues (which we avoided). |

Norv was here a long time and he's well known for winning with a dallas team with crazy amounts of talent. As a head coach he's ALWAYS had a habit of figuring out how to blow leads and lose games though. He has NO leadership skills and that's why he's a terrible head coach. as far as running an offense, he seems to be alright. Nolan didn't ddo much as a DC here, but snyder was probably still too involved in football decisions and too reactionary at that point of his ownership. |
