I don't like giving up picks either, but gibbs saw something he must of really liked in him (REALLY liked, cause he's got some attitude issues they felt okay with). |

Re: Redskins best free agent move
The Eastern Motors organization needed an influx of original talent now that we don't have Lavar. So Brandon Lloyd has agreed to put together a single for them that will probably be track 3 on his new rap album.
And thus I submit that Brandon Lloyd is in fact the solution to Q3. |

I voted for Randle El predicated on the fact that he's now our best QB.

I hope the worest move isn't doing anything more! We need a LB starter, nickel CB and back up DL and OL!

Re: Redskins best free agent move
Finally, a speed rushing defensive end! I'm looking for good things, for Carter and the Skins as a whole. Now the GW defense can really let loose, I see Carter on 3rd downs as the rush linebacker in the 3-4, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Since GW has proven he can work magic with the linebackers, exhibit 1 Antonio Pierce, I'm curious to see what unsung hero steps up this year. Khary Campbell? Robert McCune?
This really opens up our defense, instead of being forced to blitz to apply pressure, now GW can choose to blitz to mix things up. Carter will hopefully play a lot like Jevon Kearse did in Tennessee, get back in the backfield really quickly and make the qb make some mistakes. Add in Archuleta, a better version of Matt Bowen, and defensively we are looking pretty good. We should really be able to force turnovers, something we struggled with most of last year. I can't wait to see how the defense. Offensively, I'm thinking Randle El and Lloyd together will have a bigger impact than Carter, but Carter is the piece we've needed to really run GW's defense. |

I voted for Carter but if Taylor has to do time and can't play this year then I would have to say that Archuleta is the best free agent move.

Re: Redskins best free agent move
OK, I've trundled thru 53 posts on who is the best FA pickup for the 'Skins, and am impressed. However, none of the comments will change my mind from my original vote for Randle El. I love Andre Carter, but he will only make a top 10 D better. R-El, IMO will add points to the Offense. I do believe that a hi-scoring O gets you to the dance and a super D will win it.

welcome El really adds points to the special teams. lloyd adds more points to the offense than Randle will (he only had one receiving TD last year).

Re: Redskins best free agent move
Hey, I was looking at the free agent lists, and why did we pick up Archuleta? He's younger, and he's a million cheaper than Ty Law, but Ty Law is WAY better. Wouldn't you all have liked to see Ty Law rather than Archuleta? And how come we haven't gone after Sam Adams? I think Andre' Carter is going to be another Dexter Manley. That was a class move, I'll give it to Gibby and Gregg there, but why Archuleta? Seriously, thats going to bug me. Ty Law is way better. Randle El is going to make a serious impact. I've heard from San Francisco fans that Brandon Lloyd is a younger T.O. He's a cancer in the locker room. We're going to have some issues with him, unless Saunders puts his foot in his ass soon, I mean, as soon as camp starts. Why else would SF get rid of him so easily? We traded a draft pick for him, if I'm not mistaken.

Re: Redskins best free agent move
i voted carter for two reasons
1) drew bledsoe...... he's a statue in the backfield,he does not scramble very well but if he's given time he can pick a defense apart. 2) Eli manning...... he's still young, put pressure on him and he'll make mistakes. i like all the skins pickups but i think carter gives us a huge weapon against two of the three nfc east apponents.

and before calling lloyd a cancer, lets at least see how things go. gibbs has earned some benefit of the doubt when he says he thinks a FA is worth getting. ST has off field troubles and some shady things, but his teammates are all for him and he has no trouble in the lockerroom. Hopefully winning and evteran leadership (san fran lacked both) keep him in line. there's no way of knowing until the season starts though. sam adams is old and slow and expensive and he wouldn't be an upgrade. we've got 2 younger guys doing the job. |
