I'd rather him come here rather than go to Dallas and meet Jerry Jone's plastic surgeon and have him cut off about 40 lbs of fat.

Latest News on Lincoln Kennedy

There's more about a Cowboys tryout than a Redskins one...and the only one I saw reporting a Redskins tryout was scout.com.

It's a tryout. If he's still got the skill to do so, losing a few pounds in the heat and humidity of Ashburn, VA, he'll be back down to 335 in no time. And we'll have a quality backup.

I would say if the coaching staff likes what they see then sign him. We all kind of laughed when they said they where going to sign Brown and that worked out great for us.

The Star-Telegram story seems to think Kennedy was a DT, so I'm willing to discount that entirely.

Re: Lincoln Kennedy To Try Out For Redskins

Does this seem like an idea that just sort of popped into his head or has he been trying to get back into some kind of shape for at least a little while now? I have no problem giving him a chance to make the team. If he's able to get through the workouts well enough for someone who's been out of the league for 2 years then I think he'd be a fine addition to our bench.

I'm upset it was mentioned that he wanted to come back and get a ring, and that he is working out with them cowboys.

Re: Lincoln Kennedy To Try Out For Redskins

As much as we might not like to acknowledge it, TO is going to make the Cowboys a much better football team. He is a great receiver. Now, whether or not they have a shot at the Super Bowl remains to be seen. I don't think Julius Jones and Marion Barber are the type of backs a team can ride through the playoffs, but I thought the same thing about Larry Johnson before last season and he certainly showed he can be a premier back. Also, that line that's now missing Larry Allen, is going to have to keep one of the least mobile quarterbacks in the history of the game upright. So, there are a bunch of "if's" regarding the Boys, but they do have a shot of being a dangerous team this season and have a very good chance of making the playoffs, so it seems to make sense that Kennedy believes they have a shot at making a run at the Super Bowl.

Speaking of TO, anyone read about the first instance of acting up down in Big D? Already he was yelling at some of his fellow players.

To overuse the already overused phrase:

Tick tock, my friends, tick tock.

Maybe that's what he thinks being a "vocal leader" is all about...lol. I never said he was a good influence on your team, just that he could play and that he makes teams better.

Being a bad influence on his team will eventually negate the on-the-field skills TO brings (which no one doubts).

As a buddy of mine would say, "It's kind of like cheatin' on your wife...the first few "times" with the new girl are real nice and everybody's excited and happy. Then she goes all fatal attraction on you and your wife finds a lipstick stain on your shorts and a dead rabbit in the sink. That's when the shit hits the fan."

I would equate TO to the new girl and Bledsoe to the wife. Eventually Drew's gonna find lipstick on Parcells shorts and then it's meltdown time in big D...except in this story they all drown in the tub.

I agree with you 100%, but in the short term, the Cowboys are a better team. I believe nothing will come to a head this season. I think TO will be on pretty good behavior for this season, after that all bets are off. But it's this season that I'm talking about and I'm inclined to believe they're better for having him on the team.

As for Drew, he's not the laid back kinda QB that Jeff Garcia and Donovan are. Drew will give it right back to him on the sidelines. Just like he did with Keyshawn. They had to be separated last season. I think Drew might be better equipped to handle TO than any other QB he's played with.

I really think there needs to be improvement on the O-Line. Ray Brown is gone, and the bench is weak. It is good to have Samuels, Jensen and Thomas, but we are gonna need depth. Out success has always been parallel with solid O-Line Play.

I agree. Id love to send Patten somewhere in return for a quality backup offensive tackle or center.
