Re: Time to bench Brunell?
But I'll leave the subject alone b/c all I am doing is making my mood and outcome worst. Whatever, if optimism still exist tell the team that. Have them turn it around and go all the way. When that happens burn me at the stake. We cant start the season over till next year. I hate this constant revolving door of players, coaching schemesb/c impact draft picks are few and far between, washed up veterans with huge contracts get signed, and worst of all the penalties. It be nice to get grounded and rooted where everyone knows what is expected and how to execute.
I just benched Brunell in my Madden season and am starting over at week 1. I can always trust that I bring home a lombardi in the fantasy world at least.

Re: Time to bench Brunell?
I agree with Doc Walker. Campbell cannot do any worse.. Brunell had 45 yds passing before that last drive.. 45!!!!!! That is unacceptable from an NFL QB!!! Put Campbell in there with Portis, Moss, Lloyd, Cooley, etc and let him figure it out.. It's not giving up on the season, we're 0-2, the season (thusfar) has been a disaster anyways, what are we risking?

Re: Time to bench Brunell?
boonell needs to step aside....i believe i saw more guys open on t.v. than he did....down field open guys at that. he has not taken a shot down the field yet. last week there was one completion to moss for 34. that is it. i think cooley should cut that hair where he could get a step on someone and get open. he has been smothered and nonexistent. could the d line please get some pressure on the qb. the corners would not have to work so hard if they could. bledsoe had all day.
let's hope for major improvement. next week might be as easy as it will get this season. |

Re: Time to bench Brunell?
I said in one of my post during the week that Brunell has to play better for us to have any chance at winning, he didn't do it. I have always been a supporter of this guy but right now I'm at a crossroads where he is concerned, and it could very well be the time now for JG to think about a change even though Brunell is not the only reason why we're not winning.

Brunell Solely Responsible for Loss?
I believe Mark Brunell's inability to throw the ball downfield or get the ball in playmaker's hands is the major reason the Redskins lost. He never looked comfortable in the pocket all night even though pass protection was overall adequate under the circumstances. Something is up with his confidence or his mechanics because several times during the evening he was unable to make the routine throw.

Re: Bench Brunell
I heard Brunell is so lost the team has to dress him and that during TV timeouts he wonders into the other teams huddles and tells them the play.

Re: Time to bench Brunell?
id pull now as well, brunell (knowing the offense or not) is now a QB we have to max protect all the time and send out cooley and moss. if you watch the game, he is so damn timid when anyone is near. he will fold under pressure and holds the ball so damn long for the end result to be a sack. no matter the offensive calls, you will always have pressure, and thats something brunell obviously cannot handle and w/o legs.... he is a guy scared who cant even run away. the pass that was int'd was so horrible, it looked like one of frost's punts. IF ANYTHING, CAMPBELL WILL ATLEAST GIVE US MORE SCRAMBLE ABILITY. SO IF CAMPBELL SUCKS JUST AS BAD AS BRUNELL, WE WILL ATLEAST HAVE A GUY THE WOULD CREATE MORE PLAYMAKING ABILITY AND THAT CHANCE IS ALWAYS THERE.... WITH BRUNELL ITS FLAT OUT NOT THERE.
