Re: Hats off to Mark Brunell setting a NFL record!
I know -- Samuels and Jansen had their hands full today ... literally. I counted holding calls on Rabach, Samuels, and twice for Jansen. Sometimes I wonder if we've already seen the best days of Jon. Let's hope not.

Re: Hats off to Mark Brunell setting a NFL record!
while he does throw downfield a bit more, with the Eagles running the west coast offense the majority of Mcnabbs passes r within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage just like we saw from Brunell and company today.

Re: Hats off to Mark Brunell setting a NFL record!
There are three parts to the passing game: blocking, throwing and catching. Blocking is 51% of the formula.
Last week, Brunell took a lot of heat. Some of it deserved, but a lot was directed personally at him when it was blocking breakdowns, some of it receivers and play calling. Today, Brunell played the game exactly the way we need him to, the ball at right place at the right time. Kudos to him. Keep it up, Mark! This offense seems to count on yards-after-the-catch. Now I understand why ARE is here. Brunell fits this offense as well as Trent Green did in KC. |

j/k. I know you're a completely better person than me for not venting any frustrations stemming from him sucking a couple of weeks in a row... I feel like he deserves the accolades he recieves for the record and the win, but I think we should start more bench brunell threads than ever before if thats what it takes to get the guy to complete more balls to players than fans! hess... you are the F'ing man! :vomit:

I 2 admit I might have jumped the gun a bit early with talking about Campbell playing soon, but Brunnel had looked absolutely terrible the first 2 games. If the team can keep on turning these swing routes, screens, and other short passes into 10+ yard plays, I don't care if they don't throw the ball down the field more than a couple times a game.

Re: Hats off to Mark Brunell setting a NFL record!
I watched Gannon as he systematically tore up the Broncos en route to the record and the begining of a SB run in 2002, and I sat there and said to myself that this was like DiMaggio's streak, and will never be broken again.
Man, was I wrong. Mark deserves it, especially after putting up with all the crap from the media this week. |

Most of McNabbs passes are short. He goes deep more than Brunell, but so does everyone.

Re: Hats off to Mark Brunell setting a NFL record!
You can't run on the Jaguars...so hopefully they attack with Cooley down the middle, where the Jax D is weak. They need to throw a bunch next week while keeping Brunell upright. Jacksonville doesn't generate much of a pass rush, so lets get ready for a FG battle.

Mark brunell breaks a record
And people continue to hate....That angers me not just as a redskins fan...but as a Quarterback as well...You know what..I believe in the 91 season the cowboys only had 1 victory and that was against the skins..in dallas, You cowboy fans continuing to talk crap about our Offense....Do not forget that you have to play us twice..., Our defense is crap I will agree there....Someone should talk about cutting Archelettas pay...or start scrutinizing the Defense so they can have a record day next week. Back on subject though...Give Brunell some credit, he proved himself.
Im sorry but I just dont get it...The man breaks a record AND I DO NOT Give a damn who it was against because playing like that...will pwn any team in the nfl..as it stands if we played the giants today we probably would of won that defense coulden't catch a cold. But Im fustrated as hell with the Brunell dissing that is continuing he bitch slapped his critics and those experts...And Im friggin loving it....Bend over NFL NETWORK!!!! |
