Nah man. HELL nah. I believe you'd get your ass kicked for saying something like that.

Re: You can't help but love this guy...HAIL!

too much pointless e-angst. wonder why i'm always at the tail end of this things (maybe the whole not posting while working thing is hurting my ability to join in the misery) :/

om's a good guy, but an article should always include a link or attribution, extreme fan and om w/ link are very different things.

and it's true they generally stay at ES unless something about them is posted here, but, i mean, it' not like i spend any time at ES (harsh on eyes, too much noise to signal, etc), so i don't really see him stopping in to say he wrote it as a big deal. And i know he polices un/mis-attributed stuff on ES, so i can see why he'd want to see his work credited elsewhere.

Link and a summary gives it a cleaner look. I have no problem with pimping articles from other sites. Unfortunately, I've never seen it reciprocated. We have several great thoughts by our own members. We should pimp those out more and get some lovin' from our "competitors"

Om Jai jagdish hare-hookskins and BSB know what I'm talking about

Re: You can't help but love this guy...HAIL!

Well the fact of the matter is both communities have their own distinct personalities, if you will. Competition, perhaps, but hatred I don't think so.

The fact of the matter is, it's probably good that we don't 'share' views on everything.
I don't see the Washington Post promoting the Times and vice versa. We watch ESPN because they are going to give us a different flavor than Fox or CBS. I like the flavor of Warpath, it fits me. Shit, if I want some ES articles, I'll go over there and check it out.
I'm oversimplifying some, but you get my point.

I've been a member here for a little over a year I guess, and while I think there is a healthy, for lack of a better word, rivalry, I don't sense any hatred.

So in the spirit of competiveness..I bid my brothren at Extremes the very best....more power to them. But for me, home is where the heart is.

I totally agree with you on all counts. Being new here, I wasn't sure what the vibe was between the boards and I'm not here to debate the pros and cons of either one. There is a reason I signed up here and I must admit this board has been much more responsive and accepting of me as a new member than ES was. I really haven't posted much on ES anyway because there tends to be this "blood in the water" mentality with a few of the members, but I do enjoy reading alot of the content by the mods. The bottom line for me is, this is ultimately "your house". I would just like to be clear on what the consensus is on this issue so I can act accordingly.

Re: You can't help but love this guy...HAIL!

Wow, this thread is all over the place. First, while I understand that there is a market for the art-sy style of writing, it is not for me (maybe just a guy thing). I tried to read the whole thing but could only make it through the first couple of paragraphs. Does that mean I have a short attention span, or could it just mean I didn't like it? That said, I expect some other people did like it and it was maybe worthy of a link, but it was already linked at Redskins.com. I expect everyone who reads this site also looks at Redskins.com (as well as the post and the times).

While I understand the mods frustration about dumping other forums thoughts onto the Warpath message boards, I don't think I would worry about it much. There are good reasons why the fans of this site visit here, post here, and read Bruds rantings. I guess that I wouldn't expect "that other site" to post any links from our site (I have been here long enough to consider this my site too). This is part of what I like the best about the Warpath; it is still a free speech message board. No outside influence, posting thoughts from anywhere allowed.

hesscl34, I'm glad your a girl. It explains quite a bit (and why you would love that guy... or any guy...)
