har har.... There is a lot to be said about postive thought. The mental game is just as important the the physical one. Postive energy is REAL and it if it comes in a dose of 92,000 it WILL have an affect!

We should all rub our foreheads with crystals and wear pyramid shaped hats to focus that positive energy into an invisible 12th player who will lead our offense into the endzone, trip their offense at the line of scrimmage, and give Jeff Fisher a wedgie every couple of minutes.

Negative? Who's being negative? Positive thinking is fine and all, but it takes more than that to accomplish anything in sports/work/life than positive thinking and a chipper smile. We could be the happiest people in the world but if the players don't do their jobs out there on the field it isn't going to mean shit.

I say we need anxiety and we need to fret over the games because that adds excitement when we pull out a game like the Monday Night Miracle last season. If we totally ignored the possibilty that we could every lose again why would we even watch the games, just to say "I told you so"? It's the struggle that creates the drama that keep sports interesting.

And what in the hell is a "ninny" exactly??

And don't get me wrong; I'm not saying I always expect the Redskins to lose or that I never want them to have a perfect season or something like that. I just try to be a realist about it and I try to value every win we get.

Re: Stop The Negative

Nah, I'm making a serious effort to stay on task now. Seriously, if we want to talk positive. Let's talk positive. Our offense has shown potential against one of the best defenses in the league. We STILL have one of the top three backs in the league. Once we can figure out a good gameplan each week, we have one of the best receiving corps in the league (Lloyd got the ball in SF, why not here?). It's all about Saunders learning what he has to work with and gameplanning from there. If we can get Springs back soon, the defense and offense can bail each other out until they're firing on all cylinders.

Re: Stop The Negative

tmc, do you really think springs coming back is the answer to all the woes? man, i sure hope so. as talented as this team is, one big game could shift the big MO in the redskins way. get on a roll. i still see 11 wins. I'm sticking to it

Re: Stop The Negative

I don't think it's the answer, but I think just like Portis being back, it'll help a lot. It's definitely a team game, but individuals are vital cogs in the game plan. Even if you have an above average team around you, losing an extremely talented player takes the overall effectiveness of that team down. As with the defense this year, Springs being out shouldn't affect the team, but you better believe GW doesn't call as many blitzes as he normally would. Remember that first preseason game against the Bengals? That was Williams at his best with Springs in there. He can leave his CBs on an island because he trusts them both.
