Like most Redskins teams over the past seven season that were saddled with high hopes, the 2006 version of the franchise has failed. But Gibbs apparently won't be slinking away with a potentially tarnished legacy; look for him to stick around for at least one more season, probably two.

Possibly, more.

Gibbs coming back to coaching so he could get his son a job and make his wife happy ranks as the second most stupid thing I've ever read on the Warpath.

It's not Snyder's fault. Gibbs has picked the players and chosen to forsake the draft in lieu of the quick fix via free agency. The only thing Snyder has done since Gibbs came back has been writing checks to fullfill every Gibbs desire. Blame Snyder for pre-Gibbs excesses, but not for this mess.

Gibbs will be back. There's no way he'd want to finish his career with a losing season. That said, I hope he invites some of the old "assistant head coaches" to pursure other interests.
