Re: Grade Jason Campbell

I gave him a C, based on the following scale:
A - Near perfection (e.g.: Peyton Manning)
B - Above average (e.g.: Tom Brady)
C - Average (e.g.: Jon Kitna)
D - Below average (e.g.: Bruce Gradkowski)
F - Terrible (e.g.: Andrew Walter)

I could never expect a first year starter to be anything more than average. I'm quite pleased and relieved.

Re: Grade Jason Campbell

I give him a B:

Why not an A? A few mistakes (judgement) on interceptions, although 2 of his INTs were batted balls and not entirely his fault. Also, he seems to miss Cooley a lot when he's WIDE OPEN in the middle of the field.

He has a cannon for an arm and runs for first downs when he doesn't have a throw. He runs like a RB too, a big powerful RB...breaking tackles, using stiffarms.

Re: Grade Jason Campbell

10 td's 6 pics, enough said. Brunell had 8 TD's!!!!! in less games. Jason brought us a passing game....instead of a 2nd running game(which brunell did). Anyone think that the running game might have opened up for a reason????? I give him a B. I'm liking him more and more as he is able to make reads and escape pressure.

Re: Grade Jason Campbell

I gave him a C due to his inaccuracy & lateness on some throws, but I think a C is pretty good for his 1st 7 starts. I agree w/Matty, the sky's the limit for JC if he can just keep improving a litle each week. Anyone that isn't excited about having him as our qb is a little too bitter for me. He gives us the most hope we've had since Brad Johnson.

Re: Grade Jason Campbell

As a starting NFL QB I gave him a 'C'.
If I were rating him based the expectations of a first-year starter... I'd give him a 'B'

Re: Grade Jason Campbell

i put B because he was very composed in the pocket not nervous.
sure he made mistakes cause that comes with the learning process at the QB postion.i thought the offense picked up as he gained more experience with the offense and getting used to everybody around him. just needs more time and hopefully having a training camp ahead of him will help even more for next seasons potential success.

grade B..........

Re: Grade Jason Campbell

Still mulling the grade...

Great at escaping pressure.
I'm very excited at seeing his first "touch" pass during the Giants game.
Too many bad throws missing wide open receivers. In general, his completion percentage is not very good.
I like the fact he is cool under pressure. (The playcall when his headset went dead.)
It's good he goes downfield.
He misses on a lot of short throws. I don't think this is attributable to timing.
Few of his long completions are on the money. Most come from the receiver adjusting to the ball. I hope this is due to timing and not due to the same factors that cause him to blow a lot of short throws.

If he can make the short throws almost automatic and master "touch" passing, I think he can become a great QB. (I think if he masters the short throws he'll do well on the long throws as well.)
