Re: Lavar Arrington and Chad Morton cut by Giants?
Poor Lavar, how does minimium wage sound Lavar ??? Good Luck...DON'T COME BACK... USED UP HAS BEEN OR NEVER WAS IS MORE LIKE IT! Surprised at the Petitgout move he's been a solid OT. Another suprise if they depart with Chad I thought he played well in NY.

That was probably the most tragic aspect of Lavar's career in Wasington, not the injuries & undisciplined play, but his standing by his agents while the nflpa & congress questioned their ethics. I said it in several of the many Lavar posts, I really believe the rift w/Lavar & the Danny all stems from the postons. |

I wonder if this means the g-men are ready to make a serious offer to Briggs. He may be franchised soon, but that can lead to a trade.

Lavar tends to wander a bit. But all I know was his last year here, when he was on the field, he was making a difference. He was getting the ball carrier on the ground all by himself. So if he can do that then he's better than Marshall and Holdman. However I'm not sure how that would impact Rocky since they play the same position. So it's probably not going to happen. |

Re: Lavar Arrington and Chad Morton cut by Giants?
I'm going to eat crow now. ESPN is reporting that Arrington, Carlos Emmons, and Luke Petigout have all been released. That means that the Giants enter the offseason without two starting OLBs, a starting LT, a starting HB, or anyone of note at DT. Wow, and I thought we had holes.

He shouldn't have burnt this bridge before he left. He never looked right in Blue. I am more interested in Petigout. |

Re: Giants Cut Arrington, Emmons, and Petigout
Thanks for the link.
As for bringing LaVar back - even for a try-out - Dear Lord!!! Will the LaVar worshippers ever stop? He had a shot, blew it and then showed his true colors (Q: "Who is the worst coach you ever played for?" A: "Joe Gibbs" (I saw the clip - he didn't hesitate even a beat before saying it)). LaVar hates the Skins and they probly don't like him all that much either. Why bring back the drama queen? In one sense, both LaVar and Ramsey were two of kind - we Skins fans held them in much higher esteem then the rest of the league.

Re: Giants Cut Arrington, Emmons, and Petigout
Also, the Petitgout cut is good for us even if we don't sign him. Todd Wade did a fine job filling in - the more tackles on the market, however, the cheaper he becomes for us to resign.

I agree, put a fork in Lavar he's done! Todd Wade did do a heck of a job.

What if we brought Back Lavar, and Smoot. We would look just like the Eagles. Let out guys go, they fail, bring them back on the cheap side.

He's an over-zealous washed out linebacker who's had his shmorgusboard of physically debilitating injuries. He won't ever have a season close to those in his prime and has lost several steps. I pray we don't get him. Smoot is over-rated... but he's probably better than alot that's out there. We're really in bad shape on defense, and this has to be a very smart off-season. No more Archuletta-esque moves. I'm hoping we trade down and fill as many holes as possible, because there are plenty of them.
