The reason I say this is your jumping all over the front office for things that you have know idea are true or not and I see this all the time here on this site. We need to wait to hear the facts before we come to any conclusions.

I do not recall any articles or posts that suggested we attempted to sign him during the season, I could be wrong.

I wasn't the one who suggested the 3 yrs 12 million. I have never really seen what our offer was. I went along with what was posted here. but I read something someone said that the 12 million may have been the guaranteed amount over the first 3 years, which makes more sense.

as far jumping on the front office, why not?! Our front office has been less than spectacular over the last several years. They deserve to be critisized for some of the moves they have made recently. The front office are the ones making the calls on who we sign and dont sign, and who we overpay, and who we try to lowball. Who else would be held accountable?
(front office = Gibbs, Williams, Saunders, Danny, Vinny) they all make the decisions, so no one is above the backlash.

Rather than continuing to dig at the past let's look at right now, the front office is finally showing some financial restraint. Let's at least give them some credit for that. In this overpriced market the Skins are taking a backseat, that's pretty refreshing if you ask me.

I'd be much more pissed if they gave Dockery anything in the neighborhood of 7 years, $49M.

the skins did the right thing here. let's move on.

I agree. no way we should have signed him to that deal. I agee with everyone that has said that. If he was infact waiting for his payday, then he got it. I just wish we could have kept him thats all. I think my posts get misinterpritted. I would never pay a guy (unproven guy) that much money. I just felt, like I have said before, we overpay for a lot of outside guys, it would be nice to overpay for one of our own, to keep him here. Now, having said that, not to the extent the bills paid. maybe dockery didn't want to be here no matter what and I tend to go with that philosphy right now, and nothing would have kept him here. But, dont you agree that we have let certain players leave that should have stayed to overpay for the FA, the outside guy.

But, it does take two to get an agreement done and I know that. So, point is, we have to fill the hole with another FA because we dont have any picks. I just hope who ever fills that hole isn't a swinging door.

Totally TG. How many times has somebody posted that they wish we acted like the Pat's, etc. Well...............we just did, and and I' damn happy with the Joe2, and the FO for it! The teams laying down the train load of jack for these guys will regret it. How many times have we been in their shoes?
Doc was an adequate player leaning to pretty good. VERY replaceable

Re: Dock Offered 3 Yrs 12 Million

Spending is up about 30% over last year, so even if you take into account that 30% increase we're talking about a deal worth around $34M for Dockery a year ago. That's still way too much for him.

Nice to see some others leading the spending spree for a change. And no deals yet with the bronco's . They seem to always get the better end of the deal.

Yup. Nicely said (all of it, not just the bolded part - I just happen to agree with that statement in particular).

Our line and our coaches, made Dockery. It's good that another team overpaid and not us.

Over pay for one of our own would be nice? I don't wanted to over pay for anything not a car a home or a computer. I hope Danny would feel the same way. I may be wrong but excecpt for Antonio Pierce what other passed Redskin in the last eight years have we let get away that we should have over payed? Just a side note Pierce wasn't even drafted by the Skins in o1 he was a free agent pick up out of college! Here is a list of our own that we have drafted Jansen[99],Samuels[00],Smoot[01],Betts[02],Cartwright[02],Dockery[03],Taylor[04],Cooley[04],Campbell[05],Rogers[05],Mcintosh[06] and Golston[06]. Other then Arrington and Bailey both who didn't wanted to be here. So who should have we over payed to stay?

well, we should have paid champ over lavar, that was a huge mistake by the danny. samuels was overpaid (cause the dan thought he was asking too much, then walter jones got a new deal and lds had to pay a lot more. it doesn't pay to wait on extending guys too often :/. )

well he said he would have signed during the season but the skins didnt give them there number. I think if we gave him around with a 8 to 10 million before he hit the martket he would have stayed. Too late now. He said they did offer him a 3 yrs 12 million on the brian mitchell show today.

I listened to the interview online

http://a1135.g.akamai.net/f/1135/182..._Mitchell_Show

and I didn't hear any mention at all of 3 years 12 million.

that is blatantly wrong. he was offered money but he and his agent didn't want to sign since they saw all the money building up for this FA market. he would have signed if we offered him 30mill maybe, but even that would be way too much for him.

it was a good non-move. if we didn't trade to move up for rocky, his replacement would already be in house. oh well, time to move the f on.
