You are dead on with this Davy.

Here is the bottom line

Brandon Llyod: 23 receptions, 365 yds, 0 tds
Keyshawn Johnson: 70 receptions, 815 yds, 4 tds

Yeah you can complain that Llyod had a qb who couldn't throw him the ball and a qb that was a rookie, but 0tds - even Todd Yoder and James Thrash got a td each.

Re: Keyshawn Johnson released from Carolina.

everyones saying that KJ will help us in the redzone but i thought that one of the many knocks on keyshawn was that he had trouble finding the endzone. Always caught like 70 balls but only 3-5 for touchdowns. I agree that hieght would help us in the redzone but im not really sure keyshawns that guy

i think that the reason this is a dumb move is because if they would have done this alittle earlier, they would have saved themselves a 3 million dollar roster bonus

Re: Keyshawn Johnson released from Carolina.

Keyshawn is toast and not worth it!!! I hope to god Snyder doesn't try to do something stupid here and try to get him. He is past his prime, which is obvious since nobody wants him( as well as a high sticker price for his services). Next year draft a WR in the 2-3rd round, a young guy that will stick around for a while and produce for us. On top of that I would worry about any possible messing around with team chemistry between Keyshawn and Santana, Llyod, etc. Too may big names(egos) might not bode well for us!!! Leave Keyshawn be!!!!!!!!

He also lost two games for Carolina last year by himself (Cincinnati and Philadelphia). That came straight from a Carolina fan that I am friends with. Obviously the Panthers didn't give a shit about his 70+ in 9 out of 10 and their front office typically gets a lot of credit.

The last time we had a bum like this? Westbrook or Gardner take your pick.

Anyone who actually thinks that this guy would help our team needs to watch a game or two that doesn't have the Redskins in it.

Good one Grimmy, get a young stud next year with a high end draft pick, a kid with a long career ahead of him, preferably all with the Skins!!!!! Keyshawn will cost us a lot of $$$$$$$$$$$ and might piss off members of our present WR Corp.

Well I do watch games without Redskins in it thanks to the beauty of Sunday Ticket and I've got to disagree. I don't think the Redskins should sign him, but I also don't think Keyshawn is a bum. He is a very accomplished receiver, with excellent body control and good hands. Won't run by any one, but a very solid WR nonetheless. The game in Philadelphia that he supposedly lost single-handedly according the friend of a previous poster was definitely on Jake Delhomme. It was a wretched throw at the end of the game, if he had put it in a good spot KJ very well might have caught it for the winning score. I guess it is crazy to offer such a defense of Johnson, but the thing holding him back in Carolina was 1) bad O-Line play, which led to 2) erratic QB play from Jake Delhomme (who was hurt a few games which meant Weinke was in), and 3) Delhomme's obsession with Steve Smith . . . oh and he still caught 70 balls.

Westbrook might have been physically superior to Johnson, but neither he nor Gardner were near the receiver he is (as evidenced by their both being out of football with one and a half decent seasons between them).

Who needs a posession receiver who drops wide open touchdowns and runs the wrong routes in the red-zone?
I would argue that he should have had much better numbers with Steve Smith across the field especially since they had to throw all the time. What is the explanation for his lack of production in Dallas?
Sorry to dismiss your man love for this guy but he has been overated his entire career. So you are criticizing Delhomme's obsession with Steve Smith? I can't help you buddy.

Carlos Rogers dominated him. Case closed.

Not that I support bringing Keyshawn in, but he does one thing we don't currently have: block.

James Thrash blocks, plays teams and keeps his mouth shut.

Re: Keyshawn Johnson released from Carolina.

This is really a shock to me after watching him during the draft. He seemed excited to help Jarrett.
Anyone think that Keyshawn couldn't help us is wrong. Even at worst, being a 4th wr, he provides reliability and a veteran presence. That would give us a deep WR core. My concern would be his salary...but if we could get him for chump change, I'm all for it.

Who knows, it may help ARE and Lloyd perform better.

I am on the fence here about him comming. I do know one thing though, he said that he wanted to go to a team and help them win another Super Bowl. I don't think that the Redskins are on his list. I think that it was a statement to probably get either the Colts or Pats attention.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to hurt Brandon's feelings. He might get cranky and alienate everyone within the organization. Oh wait....

Not since the days of Darnerian McCants has there been a "big" target receiver that I could trust would come down with the ball when is's in the air. We NEED a guy like him. He blocks, he can catch, and he still has some gas left in the tank. SIGN HIM !!!
DAMN RIGHT!
