Clinton Portis has really shown me something in the last 24 hours. He is an all-time Redskin in my book.

He's been an all-time human being these past few days. Redskins Insider was reporting that once Snyder heard, he called CP (who was in Miami with them). CP called his teammates.

I don't know who wears the "C" on their jersey. I do know who the Captain is.

That is such a great quote.

Tragedy has a way of inspiring people in ways that are sometimes impossible to reach otherwise.

Given a choice, obviously every single Redskins fan would choose to go back in time and prevent this from happening to Sean Taylor and his family, but one of the things we've lamented and bickered about over the course of the past few seasons is the team's identity and cohesiveness, and I really do think that this team will become even closer as a result of this tragedy.

I'd like to think Sean's up in heaven, levelling archangels in a pickup football game, smiling that his family is safe and his team is rallying around each other, knowing that he's still providing leadership to the team, just from a lot deeper in the secondary

This is awesome. They should retire the number next year.

Classy move by C.P. I know He must be in a lot of pain right now with them being so close. Hell I been heart broken all day and I didn’t even know Sean. I think this would be a good for the whole team and all the fans.

What's so touching about CP and ST's relaltionship is that ST wore #26 in college and Portis nows wears #26. Only in my imagination could Portis play safety for the rest of the season.

Nice move, CP. Put on a show this Sunday!

Saw the Antonio Pierce interview on Comcast a few hours ago. He said any team that plays the skins this week ought to fear them. Especially our defense. I hope AP is right. If the Giants could get charged up and annihilate a$$ the week Mara passed, I think our bunch can do the same, if not better.

Re: Clinton Portis to switch to #21

this situation is alot different than a co-owner dying. not to make light of it, but remember when JCK died? That was a sad time, but this is absolutely tragic and devistating... I almost wish they would just postpone the game or something... I lost a co worker a year ago that I knew only from work, but she was a very nice lady and every time I saw her empty desk I teared up...

how the hell are they gonna go out and play a game this weekend...

This is totally different from an owner dying, because while the owners died from the complications that come with age, Sean was murdered in his own home.

That said, it will be hell on the Bills on Sunday. They will use this as motivation, they will be fired up, they will be focused on one thing on Sunday, doing their best for Sean Taylor.

Hail to the Redskins! We love you Sean!

I think it will be something that will help all of us trying to figure this out, it will be nice, for me anyway to see number 21 on Fed Ex field. It will help take us out of reality for a few hours, and let us enjoy the game and enjoy number 21.
