Re: Reche Caldwell and Keenan McCardell: 2008 Plans?
Well, if we're ultimately evaluating where we need to improve, what's the thinking of the potential of our young D-guys? Between Montgomery, Blades, Rocky Mac, Golston and Wilson, does anyone think--or read about any so-called experts that think--one of these guys could be a stud? Montgomery is of course seeing more action, and RM has been a starter all year, but what's the long-term potential of all of these guys?

Re: Reche Caldwell and Keenan McCardell: 2008 Plans?
I hope that we can find the answer either through the draft or on our own team, because year after year we look for the answer in free agency and our hit/miss ratio has to be 1:4 at best. So the chances of us actually identifying and landing that free agent are slim at best, probably because we hold things like "character" above "talent." Because while we were trying to move up to get Calvin Johnson there was no thought about us going to get Randy Moss.
I'm not saying character shouldn't play a role, but if the Sean Taylor media coverage proves anything its that we don't really know these guys as well as we may think. |

I didn't know that until I looked him up yesterday and I was like DAMN. He's going to be the next can't miss WR prospect.

I was thinking about Randy Moss too, and I'll bet there are lots of teams wondering why they didn't pursue him. Problem is, he came to the Pats for way less because he wants a ring. He wouldn't have gone anywhere else unless the offer was out of this world. Not only that, knowing our season, he probably would have gotten injured. |

as for WRs, I do like DJ Hall. I have a huge Alabama fan as a friend, so i've seen him a bit. i REALLY like slaton and mcfadden, but those guys would be a waste for us right now :/. as for mccardell and caldwell... as long as those guys are our #3/#4/#5, they're good depth and worth keeping as long as they're cheap. |

I've read that Chad Johnson will be available (and that he's unhappy in Cincy). A malcontent, to be sure, but talk about a big talent. I'd still be inclined against, because character counts.

I'd like to see bigger WRs. The Redkins don't have the prototypical big-body like TO, Plaxico, or Moss. I was at the game on Sunday and saw Mix. He's huge! Curious to see if he produces at all.

How many times has Moss been open deep and Jason has just missed him? We'd be doing much better if JC could put some air under the ball. The way he throws it, if it's not exactly on target (which his long ball isn't) the receiver can't get to it.

85 would be a great addition, but with the money and what not, i don't really see it happening, which is too bad.

Re: Reche Caldwell and Keenan McCardell: 2008 Plans?
Maybe our own 85 will come back and play up to his potential. I mean he can't do much if they don't put him in the game and throw him the ball. I know I'm grasping.
