Re: Gibbs to Resign as HC/President

What a hellish season for these guys. I mean really, what other turmoil could they possible be forced to go through?

Maybe we should just line all 53 of the guys up and give them a swift kick in the nuts to really round out the season's torture.

Just recieved a phone call from a friend he said he heard speculation that we were interested in Pete Carroll, I believe he said he heard it on Mike and Mike, not positive on that though.

Re: Gibbs to Resign as HC/President

Time for that clause in GW's contract; he gets $1 mil if Snyder hires anyone else.

While Joe leaving disappoints me, a part of me is happy for him & the org. that he went out on a high note. We're all looking forward to 08, but I can't help but think JLC knew what he was talking about when he said that the D might be in more trouble next year after the loss of ST, Rogers & Rocky (though now the word is he'll be back for the opener), and that the end of this year they were playing on emotion. In some ways I could see 08 as a tough year, and I would hate for Joe to go through that. He has to be drained after this season, so let him walk away on his terms.

He's made the organization respectable again & laid the foundation for future succes. Hire GW & keep Al & we should be in good shape.

Yeah Hogtimus, it was M&M speculating. I HATE that move.

Freddy: this is interesting -- Mort said there is no such clause in GWill's contract.

If Snyder can't learn the lesson about hiring college coaches into the NFL from everyone else who has tried it, this organization is royally screwed.

I just heard that segment and it was pure speculation by Mike & Mike. They were talking about how Snyder likes to make a splash with Head Coach signings and just started throwing names out there. They mentioned Carroll, Cowher, and a few others, but they had no concrete info.

I'll bet the team announces GWilliams is the new coach within a week.

Wade Phillips on line one to speak to you.. Jon Gruden is on hold..

Seriously, I had turned the corner a little bit on my "Joe must go" stance, but I'm not heartbroken. I just hope we keep Saunders as the primary playcaller.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

Chris Mortenson just stated on Mike & Mike that an official in the Redskins organization said that statement is untrue. So either it's an "under the table" kind of deal, or it doesn't exist.

You would think they'd preface that by saying "This is all pure speculation."

The media has wandered so far from sensible reporting to sensationalism that it's hardly worth getting the information any more.
