sellers is absolutely the man, he is one of the best FB in the NFL. just because this is a WC offense, doesn't mean he wont be used. Seattle required a lead blocker in their system and sellers will be just that. The guy can catch, athletic enought out of the back field to run over and jump over people.
now, if you think of drafting a FB, how could you pass on Owen Schmidt from WVU. He is a monster and the true meaning to old school, nasty, punch you in the mouth FB. |

I like Sellers, loved when he layed the boom on Kennedy, loved when he took one for the team on Portis' sweep getting leveled by an opposing LB
Thing is, he's not a good short yardage back. When it's 4th and 1 and we need to keep the drive going, Sellers just ain't gettin it done... Go back and look how many times he was stopped on short yardage last year. He also had at least 3 big drops on very catchable balls that would have moved the chains. (1/5 of Santana's drops but Mike was in the flat with no one around) Sellers is a nice player, but I don't hink he is a top FB in this league 1Dan Kreider702Lorenzo Neal664Justin Griffith655Mike Karney656Brad Hoover657Ovie Mughelli648Heath Evans649Mack Strong6410Thomas Tapeh62 More then 5 of these players above woud be an upgrade over Sellers. sellers is our FB. no need for a replacement, but a young backup would be welcome.
that said, if you just want a pass catching fullback, chris cooley had 1200 yards his last year in college as a fullback (only they called it a B-Back, and he really only ran pass patterns). |
