re: Shaun Alexander released by Seahawks
Alexander as a person and a player is a class act, I just felt he was, as a player and on a talent level, a little overrated. see previous post.

re: Shaun Alexander released by Seahawks
How come whenever a player is released some people in these forums automatically want the Redskins to pick them up?? Honestly, why do people do that??
We have Clinton Portis...Ladell Betts...Rock...and up and coming Mason who will turn some heads this year...why would you want dead weight like Shaun Alexander on the team? It isn't a position of ANY need. I would rather have a backup DE or OL at the veteran minimum instead of an aged runningback whose better days are far behind him. We have one of the best running back corp's in the league...why would you want to mess with that chemistry. Picking him up would send a bad message to the team. |

16 million. 2009 dead cap. Remember, Lloyd is going to cost the team 5 million in dead cap next season. It's totally implausible from a financial standpoint. Perhaps we can put that one on Vinny, but again, no one was really ever considering dealing Portis for McFadden in the first place.

GET USED TO IT. also, mentioning it will do nothing b/c for every rational thinking Skins fan out there (like you, as I assume) there are three Madden playing retards who think we should pick up every big name or potential big name FA out there. Try doing a thread search on any big name FA that is out there. I dare you.

re: Shaun Alexander released by Seahawks
I remembered when I posted this thread this were some of the comments from our mods. I guess that Zorn and his coaching staff had the same dumb thoughts as I did a few months ago.

After all it is the Danny and Vinnie show and they just might pull some bone head move and trade Betts and sign Alexander. Oh and by the way, he's 30 YO. That's a lot of broken quotes - what are you trying to say?

re: Shaun Alexander released by Seahawks
OK, you fixed them. I'm not sure the "dumb, dumb, dumb" response was warranted, but the ridiculousness of Alexander coming here was premised on us having 2 top-tier backs, plus Rock. Now that Betts is out, Alexander as a backup for the vet min is a very different proposition than Alexander as the #4 for $1 million+ (which is probably closer to what he would have demanded before the season started and he realized that nobody wanted him).

re: Shaun Alexander released by Seahawks
That many times people start a thread and immediately people jump on the poster and say: that's a dumb retarded post, put a lock on it. The moral of the story is that not all post are retarded, some are valid.

re: Shaun Alexander released by Seahawks
i always thought people like being a "thread starter" so anytime a player is released the inevitable "should we consider signing him" thread pops up even if it makes no sense for the skins . . . ehhhh no harm no foul, fans are supposed to be fanatics.
go skins!! edit: sorry buster i already posted before i saw your post |
