Re: Status of Jason Taylor's knee (updated: hyperextended knee)
Jim Zorn has confirmed that an MRI Sunday showed that Jason Taylor suffered only a sprained knee Saturday night in Charlotte.
Jason Reid reports that Taylor, whose knee was hit in a pileup in the second quarter of the Redskins' 47-3 loss, will be out 10 days to two weeks and, Zorn said, the team will proceed cautiously with him. That means that whether he is ready for the opener isn't certain yet. Zorn would prefer, obviously, to have him for the last 15 games rather than the opener.

10 days takes us up to 9/4 so I guess it will just depend on how fast he heals up.

That also means we got ten days to get Colt Brennan ready for opening day. HAHA

Re: Status of Jason Taylor's knee (updated: hyperextended knee)
This is really good news for JT, Jon Jansen and our team.
Redskins Insider Posted at 12:55 PM ET, 08/24/2008 Taylor to Be Out 10 Days to 2 Weeks Jim Zorn has confirmed that an MRI Sunday showed that Jason Taylor suffered only a sprained knee Saturday night in Charlotte. That timetable would, though, put Taylor's streak starting 130 regular-season games in jeopary. The injury initially looked serious, with Taylor writhing on the ground and screaming. He limped off the field, however, and was treated briefly on the sideline. Then he was taken to the locker room, where X-rays were negative. Nothing has change with Jon Jansen, who sprained his foot. He could be out a couple of days, jansen said.

Huge sigh of relief. We dodged a bullet there (or two!), no doubt. Very good news.

The Redskins have something up on their website. Also there is a morning video presser with Coach Zorn on the Redskins website.
Taylor Out 10-14 Days

Re: Status of Jason Taylor's knee (updated: hyperextended knee)
That's it Jason Taylor is Mr. Fantastic. No doubt about it, only Reed Richards and Jason Taylor could have come out of that pile with no ligament tears. Fantastic news, even if he misses week 1 he will be good to go for week 2 and beyond!

That's amazing. The injury looked just terrible. Good news for the team and JT.

Good call here Matty, props. It definitely looked worse than it was. Great news for the Skins.
