Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
b-mitch is, simply put, an ASS. he consistantly tries to get under peoples skin. he and portis have been at it for years. i think portis just finally let out his feelings after keeping them bottled up for so long. b-mitch is mr. negativity, i wish he would shut up and go away.

Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
These are two guys with a lot of pride - and each seems to think their sh** don't stink. Mitchell, as an analyst, has always struck me as arrogant ("I played the game, so you can't tell me anything"). Clinton, meanwhile, seems to have a firm believe that "Clinton knows best". Inevitably, with their personalities, they are gonna knock heads.
Also, I was listening to Zorn's show on 980 at 4:00. He said he read Clinton's comments to the entire team and, essentially, told the team to suck it up and move on, that Clinton was still a Redskin (in the euphamistic sense) and still moving in the same direction as the team. Asked if he let the lineman vent any frustrations about the comments, Zorn said - I didn't let anybody talk, this ain't Oprah. Portis' comments with the team were aired and put aside. Gotta tell you, I like Zorn's methods more and more.

Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
Here's my take (since I know everyone was waiting). Clinton is bothered because by questioning and calling out CP for not wanting to play in preseason and taking himself out of the game, mitch is questioning his committal to football and the team...
CP plays harder than almost any running back Ive ever seen. Mitchell calls him out for taking a breather after a 9 yard run like that's all he did... but he neglects to mention that he ran a 17 yard route and threw a huge chip block on a guy twice his size to protect his QB in the two plays before that and blocks for his receivers if he can... he gives his all every down that he's in the game, and feels that way and is offended by mitch's comments... but he doesn't quite know how to articulate that. CP got hurt in the preseason by laying the wood on an interception and he shouldn't have to "tone it down". I DO think he should play in the preseason, and get over the playing scared crap, but I understand the Bmitch does come off as a complete hater and is overwhelmingly negative most of the time.

Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
Its too early in the season for this BS. B Mitch knows better than this. Hell, Tiki and Strahan don't even mess with the Giants like this.

Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
Let's face it B'itch never started as a runnig back in this league so he can only speculate about being in shape for the position.

Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
He started in april saying our draft reminded him of the spurrier days, and it continued through camp. Last week after the loss he was all kinds of pissed off nostrils flared acting like he was just too pissed to talk about it. Maybe the guy is just a passionately pessimistic fan who gets too emotional to be an analyst, but it comes off the wrong way a lot of the time.

Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
Why is Brian Mitchell always bitching about something the Redskins aren't doing/should be doing?
Sounds like someone might have little man syndrome.

Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
So long as he's performing on the field I'm OK with Portis doing his thing. I don't really care about B-Mitchell, he's trying to make money as a commentator/agitator.

Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
I loved Mitchell as Redskins. But don't like him very much as a commentator. Why doesn’t he go hate on the Eagles or something? It seems like he's still bitter at the Redskins for not resigning him after he scored the only TD against Tampa in the 99' playoffs.

Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
I hear him everyday on the radio and he always nags about something the skins couldv'e or shouldv'e done even on good comeback wins like this. his commentating is starting to piss me off. He is probably mad at Portis because he was not the RB Portis is now and starting talking crap about him on the radio.

Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
CP rose even higher in my estimation with this.
B-Mitch has been nothing but bitter since we didn't resign him. He is far more negative that positive when it comes to the skins. I bet you one thing: CP's Mother could beatup B-Mitch's Mother! J-Dawg.

Re: Portis calling out B-mitch on the air
I doubt CP cares about trash talk from reporters or us cranky fans, but I think it's another issue with him when it comes from a former Redskin. And yeah, Brian Mitchell's "in the media," and "it's his job" and all, but still, isn't there some kinda code of the brotherhood?
