Re: Jansen was very solid today

Yeah after reading that Times article I am a bit worried about about bringing heyer back in. To me we won the last couple games because of our oline and our oline only. Without running the way we did, I dont think we could've controlled the clock and dominated. I really hope we keep Jansen in.

The next three games we might not need a great run blocker to win, but after that, I think we will see in a drop of runs to the right if heyer returns.

My biggest problem is why couldn't he protect campbell in preseason. Sure its only preseason but if JC gets hurt we're screwed in the reg season. Pass protection is more important than run blocking. We don't run block well, we lose yards... we don't pass protect, we lose our QB. You shouldn't have to committ backs or tight ends constantly to either side unless they're picking up blitzes.

I like jansen and he's made himself noticed for sure. He's a warrior, but he mailed it in and risked a lot this preseason. I think Zorns making the right call.
Coming off a serious injury might have had something to do with his preseason struggles.

That looks more and more like the logical conclusion. Injury issues go both ways now because Heyer is nicked up and JJ appears to have come through two major battles w/o a hitch. Pretty impressive stuff.

I voted for Jansen, I've thought he was a beast for years. I believe that he is much better against the run than Heyer. But, and I think this is important, Zorn was a QB and thier for his first thoughts are to protect Jason. so my vote was JJ but I expect SH as soon as he's healthy. Either way we're better off having both.....HTTR

This comment is about the Rams game, and I can't understand how the O-line's superior play against the Cowboys and Eagles could drop off so much against the Rams. Jansen had a false start penalty and Campbell never really had the time to pass as he did in previous games. The offensive line didn't play like they had before, and the Rams defense were ranked about last in the NFL, or close to it.

Jansen looked much like he did in the preseason, like he was on roller skates getting pushed right back into the QB. JC's footwork in the pocket has helped him avoid at least 5 more sacks this year. Heyer is much better in pass pro.

I like Jansen, but I think he still has issues about the coach's decision to put Heyer ahead of him. He talked about his feelings last week when he was interviewed on the Redskins Post Game show after the Eagles win.

Re: Jansen was very solid today

Did you guys watch the same game I watched. The offensive line took a step backwards. They gave up four sacks and two fumbles. They were a direct result of the poor offensive line play. Jansen is a very good run blocker but he is a big liability in the pass game. His man is always putting pressure on the backside. He is outmatched by quicker defensive linemen. Rabach makes so many bad plays it's hard to count. The bad snap that caused a fumble. Getting overpowered by big defensive tackles and noseguards. Campbell got sack by an untouched defensive tackle and on the replay Rabach didn't block anyone. We should be talking about canning Rabach.

I think I want to change my vote to Heyer. JJ was piss poor in pass pro yesterday.

Re: Jansen was very solid today

JJ just can't pass protect anymore. Leonard Little abused him yesterday. Plus if it wasn't for JC avoiding some guys, we take more than 4 sacks. On one play Jansen and Sellers both blocked the same guy, leaving another guy unblocked. Just stuipid shit that shouldn't happen 5 games in the season.

I will say this.....JC's has MUCH better pocket presence and he's been a lot tougher to sack. He has gotten so much better at avoiding guys. That's pure coaching.

That's the risk you take when you're in shotgun. It happens from time to time. IMO JC just need to fall on the ball instead of trying make a Tony Romo play. Racbach screwed up but JC gets gets some blame on that too.

Definitely, JC compounded the problem by not falling on the ball.

Re: Jansen was very solid today

Still Heyer. Jansen is fine, but I said that because he wouldn't have to face a top pass rushing LE. The biggest correctable reason that we lost is because Leonard Little dominated Jon Jansen. This is the second straight week Jansen has been killed in pass pro and yes, by two very fast ends, but the job he did against Dallas has worn off. Heyer needs to be in there when he's healthy.

Re: Jansen was very solid today

I was in support of Jansen, but I guess I see what Zorn was talking about. If he wants to pass more(like we needed to last game) Jansen is hurting us.

Plus, you'd think Heyer could improve in the run game, while JJ's best pass-pro is now most likely behind him.
