Wear your jerseys, wear your hats and shirts, but when you come with all this fucking regalia is when you're crossing the line.

Re: F... Selling Tickets to the Visiting Team

I know a lot of people love the conspiracy theories and corporate sell out rants but the fact is that a lot (and I do mean a lot) of people from Pgh live in DC and were in their seats rooting for the Skins at the last home game but since it was the Steelers they rooted for their home town team. The will be back in their seats rooting for the Skins at the next home game.

BTW, its not that Steeler fans travel well, its that no other city that size has seen people move away like Pgh and where ever one goes in the country there are lots of ex-Burghers living there. I travel a lot with work and everywhere I go has a Steeler bar. I have not encountered that kind of nationwide following for any other team exceppt maybe dallas. The difference I find is that the people at the Steeler bars actually used to live in Pgh while the dallas bars are populated with cowboy fans that never lived in dalas. IMO, because of the Pgh diaspora, the Steelers (not dallas) are America's team.

I've probably been to 8-10 Skins games over the years at old Veterans Stadium. A college friend had season tickets in the notorious 700 level, and I never had problems wearing burgundy and gold or cheering for the Skins. As long as you're not totally obnoxious, their fans will leave you alone. That said, trying to make noise when the Philly offense has the ball would not be a good idea.

How do you think people will act when they have been told over and over that they are part of the team as the 12th man? They will act like idiots either at their home stadium or the opponents stadium. This whole notion of the fans as the 12th man has done more to create boorish fan behavior than anything else.

Re: F... Selling Tickets to the Visiting Team

Funny last year when I had season tickets I could not find all these redskin fans to buy my tickets at my cost. So I had to sell the ones I was not using on Stub Hub or craigslist. What I should have asked to see their skins ID or something. If you have a problem with that then go out and buy the tickets and sit at home starring at your tickets and your loss. If the demand by skins fans was that great then you would not have seen all those Stealer fans sitting in the stadium. Thats why I decide not renew my tickets this year because I had trouble selling the games I did not want. So stop sitting at home and whinning about the others teams fans if your not buying the tickets yourself.

Excellent point. I'd love to know how many of the big talkers even try to buy tickets. I'm getting ready for all the "I wanted to buy tickets but..." excuses.

The ticket sellers won't know until they turn on their TV sets...

Simple solution: All the folks here who are so offended about having all those Steelers' fans in FedEx need to go to places like Stub Hub and buy up all the tix to future Redskins games. That will put them in "friendly hands".
For the record, I had the opportunity to score two "premium" seats for last night's game but had to turn down the chance because I had commitments early this morning and I probably would not have been home before 2:00AM had I gone to the game. I have no idea who got to use those seats or what their "rooting affiliation" may have been.

Thanks SC. My friend and I have season tix. I have had to sell them two years in row b/c I couldn't afford them. I have offerred them first here and not gotten any serious interest in them. This year I was able to sell one set to a Skins fan but I had to stub hub the other set and lost money. BTW - they are lower bowl seats which I was selling at cost.

Also, in the past, I have offered tix for single games (either mine or my bud's) through this site and have not once had anyone offer to buy them. And so we're clear, I have never asked for more than face value. I just am trying to avoid losing money.

Sorry guys, but these tix are expensive, I try to find Skins fans but sometimes I can't. When I can't, it's stubhub to the rescue. I simply cannot take a the monetary hit.

I expect that everyone who is bitching about opposing fans in the stadium will now make a run on stubhub, ebay and other ticket outlets to ensure that all outstanding tix are the hands of loyal fans. I, however, can neither afford the time or money this time around. Here's the link:

Washington Redskins vs Dallas Cowboys [11/16/2008] at StubHub!

I look forward to seeing you on the TV rooting hard for the Skins at the at the Dallas game Dynamite, Ruhskins, BleedBurgundy, mooby ...

Re: F... Selling Tickets to the Visiting Team

I think there was a 2:1 ratio of Redskins to Steelers fans at the stadium last night. But it seems as though that 1/3 of the attendance was much more vocal than the other 2/3 and that seems to be the real "concern"

I shouldn't talk though, I am a very quiet viewer. It's like I'm in Mass

Re: F... Selling Tickets to the Visiting Team

I am a season ticket holder and I was at the game last night. There were so many Steelers fans in the stadium. It was rediculous. When I cannot sell my tickets, I give them to Redskins fans or I eat the cost. This is not why we lost but it is still embarrassing. I was surrounded on all sides by Steelers fans. Its a good thing that there fans are a little more peaceful that Eagles fans or it could have gotten ugly.

Re: F... Selling Tickets to the Visiting Team

Tickets are sold online these days...no one knowingly hands them to an opposing fan. The steelers have a national fan base. They overran the Linc a few weeks ago too regardless of what Jaws says. i have friends that have eagles tickets and they told me that the place was filled with steelers fans. The game was not on national tv though so it got no play.

And anyway there were still plenty of skins fans there to drown out the steelers fans but the redskins offense did not play well enough for them to have anything to cheer about.

Re: F... Selling Tickets to the Visiting Team

It was terrible watching the game with my girlfriend on TV and seeing yelloww towles everywhere. That was really frustrating hearing the crowd scream and yell on 3rd and long. Man I lost a lot of respect for our fanbase. Why would anyone sell your tickets to Steeler fans on a freakin Monday Night game in DC .

Totally Embarrassing

Glad you can afford to do that. I can't. If you're willing to eat the cost of my tix also, I guarrantee that no one but Skins fans will sit in those seats.

People think season tix are a great financial investment. They're aren't. They are expensive and, yeah, their is a game or two you can sell for a profit, but mostly just getting cost is difficult. For me, its a two hundred dollar loss if the tix can't be sold. If you've that kind of money to toss out the door, more power to you. Me? not so much - I got kids, tuition and mortgages and tiny tiny amount for savings.

Just a heads up - next year I will be selling two season tix. Assuming costs don't rise, anyone on this site can have them for my cost ~$2,200 (remember, you have to pay full price for 2 exhibition games). The money is due in April - so start saving now. That way you can buy'em, sell'em for a profit, eat them on game day or make sure they go to Skins fans.

Re: F... Selling Tickets to the Visiting Team

I started giving my tix away when I got a big screen HD tv. I'd invite my buddies over and we had a great time eating and drinking. Less hassle, less cost, better beer, better food. I though about keeping the tix and going to a game or 2 but realized it just wasnt worth the expense (as mentioned in a previous post, these tix are expensive) of buying a whole season and giving away all but a couple games. I gave my tix to whoever would take them and let me tell you, a lot of times it wasnt easy giving away tix to Skins fans or any other fans.
