Re: Steelers vs. Cardinals: Best Super Bowl Ever
I'd say it was the best SuperBowl I can remember watching as far as excitement. There were turnovers, big plays, 4th quarter drama... The only thing that taints it a bit IMO were all the penalties, but an awesome, awesome game. I enjoyed it more than last year's game. The Tyree catch was amazing, sure, but all the explosive plays and outstanding quarterbacking made this one so fun.
The hyperbole on ESPN has been pretty funny. Yeah it was a great game, but they did their top 10 all-time SuperBowl plays, and three of them were from yesterday's game. That's a bit much. Like Matty said, let the dust settle a bit.

Re: Steelers vs. Cardinals: Best Super Bowl Ever
Not sure if it was the best SB ever but it was a great game to watch. Could not get over all the penalties. Arizona could have won the game but they just beat themselves w/ the killer TO which was a 14 point swing and all the stupid calls.

Re: Steelers vs. Cardinals: Best Super Bowl Ever
Y'all need to get out of here, saying this was the best super bowl ever! Man that game was so ugly to watch! no team could run the rock, Cards OTs couldn't block a turtle coming off the edge, big ben kept the ball alive cause the cards couldn't tackle him.....saw more flags then at ur local July 4th parade....everyone saying it was best ever cause of the 2 lead changes in the 4th quarter, including a great catch by holmes in the corner.....HOW THE HELL did 3 guys let holmes get to the corner?!?!?!? It was good, but not nearly the best. not even top 10

plus, Kurt threw up almost 350 yards on the steelers defense, one of "the best of all time"

Re: Steelers vs. Cardinals: Best Super Bowl Ever
Everyone is talking about the Warner fumble at the end of the game, but what about the refs overlooking Holmes' celebration after his touchdown? Using the football as a prop, that should have been a 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct.
Either way I thought the game was a lot of fun to watch, as an impartial fan I couldn't have asked for more.

Re: Steelers vs. Cardinals: Best Super Bowl Ever
That was a great game! Both teams responded in the clutch and the contest was not decided until the final gun. That's how a championship should be played. I know the Cardinals were the sentimental favorite, and maybe someone lost some money, but you have to give it up to the Steelers. They made the big plays that counted. The Cardinals should not hold their heads down because they were one interception touchdown from victory.
P.S. Larry Fitzgerald is a beast!...I only hope Devin Thomas or Malcolm Kelly can develop into half the player he is.

Re: Steelers vs. Cardinals: Best Super Bowl Ever
The last five minutes were incredible stuff. Certainly an enjoyable game to watch. I will wait on the "Best Ever" call. The Pittsburg-Dallas SB's were pretty damn good games (particularly when the Cowboys lost). Also, I seem to remember Cinci.- SF being pretty damn good too.
At this point, with 43 games, I don't think there will ever be agreement on "Best Ever" and maybe not even "Top Five". More likely, 5-10 games will vie for being the Best Ever. At this point, I would say that this game certainly merits the consideration. (I know, I know - "Thank you Captain Obvious").

Re: Steelers vs. Cardinals: Best Super Bowl Ever
- While the Warner "fumble" should have been looked at by the replay booth, I don't think it would have affected the outcome of the game
- I do however think the non-call on Holmes would have... - It was the 5th or 6th angle NBC showed that did finally show me that Holmes had both feet in. However, I think it's a situation where there wasn't enough evidence to overturn. And it was nowhere near as clear as Madden and Michaels wanted everyone to think it was. - I lost all respect for James Harrison when he decided to punk around with Aaron Francisco. He should have been ejected for his actions. Up until that point, one could have made MVP arguments for him. - The play that changed the game was Francisco (who is a backup SS) biting on a close route to Holmes and slipping. Up until then, Arizona had successfully grabbed the momentum that Pittsburgh gained in the 1st half and was getting ready for the kill. I wouldn't call it the best ever. It was a decent game, but only got that way half way through the 4th quarter when L-Fitz went up and caught his 1st TD. Up until then, it looked like a Steelers' rout.

Re: Steelers vs. Cardinals: Best Super Bowl Ever
In terms of excitement, yes it was close game.
But all time greatest? No. The level of play was not all time greatest caliber. The rule changes over the years has turned NFL football into a flag football throwing league and last nights game was the evidence of that. 73 pass attempts for 633 yards to only 38 running plays for only 72 yards. The Cardinals only ran the ball 12 times for 12 yards. Pathetic. Roethlisbuger was not very impressive. After watching the NFL network last week and seeing the past Sb's and seeing the Pittsburg vs Dallas SB in 1979, it reminds me of what two really talented teams looks like. I saw Staubach take a vicious but yet clean hit that I expected him to miss a play or two. But he bounced back up like it did not hurt him at all. In today's NFL Roethlisberger last night got pushed (two hand push) and they called a 15 penalty. Sad. The NFL and most if its fans wants a game like last night.
