Re: Broncos to trade Cutler

I dont think people realize that in order to trade for a player our team would have to give something up! What exactly do we trade away? Half of next years picks? Cooley? Landry? Campbell? Or how about all of that combined!

I'm sure if Cutler was a free agent than a lot more people would want to acquire him but when you have to give up vital players of your own team to get that one player it's always a huge risk and one I'd rather we not take.

Well seriously...we've got an above average QB who's improved every year (against the odds w/ new systems to learn and the oldest, slowest, smallest line in football) and half Skins nation is ready to throw him under the bus. Jeez. If any of our players acted like Cutler has been we'd likely be calling for his head...he's on another team IN ONE OF THE LOUSIER DIVISIONS IN FOOTBALL...so we'll take him.

Re: Broncos to trade Cutler

I certainly don't want Cutler and all his BS drama here. I don't know him but he comes across as a whiney little bitch to me. It seems that a lot of players don't like him despite his talent (Jeff George). Has any of his teammates, or anyone besides his agent for that matter, come to his defense? Not that I'm aware of. Not returning calls for 10 days doesn't sound like he's trying to work things out to me. As far as GMSud not knowing the whole story, I doubt anyone really does. It's not like this guy wouldn't lie to get what he wants. And yes, he does have a career losing record. If you're going to blame his teammates for this, doesn't JC deserve the same courtesy? Just like everyone on here I want what is best for our team. I don't think Cutler is good for this team or it's chemistry. I personally don't give a damn what he does as long as he doesn't come here and divide our team.

I'm right there with you bro, good post.

Here's John Clayton's take on the situation. I wouldn't be surprised if Brady Quinn ends up in Denver, since he'd be the closest thing to a "system QB". Clayton does make a good point about McDaniels taking a big risk if his offense doesn't work in Denver. Unlike Boston, in Denver football is the #1 sport and people are going to go insane if McDaniels new QB doesn't produce.

This story is going to last until right before the drat I'd bet. We'll be quite tired of it by then.

Mods, what's the ban for anyone who thinks it's funny to post a Cutler to the Redskins done deal thread for April Fools?

Yep. Cutler is going to cost an arm and a leg.

We could maybe offer four fingers.

I think you're just stealing Florio's A material.

Re: Broncos to trade Cutler

anyone know if we have the cap room to even make this deal? my guess would be that we would offer this year's first and next year's first and second, if we are interested at all. I know that Vinny said we aren't, but Snyder gets the last call.

Cutler is not a punk for being upset that his name was in a trade rumor, he's a punk because of the way he handled it. The nfl is a ruthless business. Mcdaniels turned dirt into gold with cassell. So what if he inquired about bringing him to denver?? Cutler had a golden situation and crapped all over it. The way he handled it was pathetic. Something you'd expect from a primadonna wr or cb, not a qb and supposed leader.

i agree, but in order to get pro bowl talent you have to get rid of pro bowl talent.. Hey i'm just ready to win now and not the future, and cutler is an upgrade over campbell.

Re: Broncos to trade Cutler

You just don't see this in the NFL. One of the most talented QB's in the NFL, coming off a 4,500 yard 25td season is going to get traded. I really like Cutler but he seems like a soft little crybaby bitch. Get over it and man up. But I bet Denver gets a ton of value for him.

If I were betting man, I would put money on a fake story involving the Redskins on Florio's site.

Re: Broncos to trade Cutler

For those of you who think this guy's a cry baby.... Imagine that you are doing a great job for your company, and you get a new boss that wants to replace you with someone who had one year of experience, just because he knows the guy. Wouldn't you be upset if you have to look over your shoulder all the time, even though you knew you were doing a great job?

Re: Broncos to trade Cutler

Cutler properly is a better qb then JC , but compensation and a much higher contract wouldn't make it a good deal. Alot of people say you need a great qb to take your team to the next level ,and thats BS. Most of the top teams last year had great defenses and a strong run game. And are team is built more for that , all we need is some turnovers and a healthy line and we could be super bowl bound. Also we beat the good teams and lost to the 49ers , Bengals , and the rams ,wtf. If we would of won 2 of those games we would of been were the eagles were ,and could of gone to the super bowl. We can't play to the level of are opponents anymore. If Trent Dilfer could take the Ravens to a superbowl i'm sure JC can.
