Re: Any New Music Selections?
I'm psyched that it's on a Saturday, too. A Friday evening drive from DC to Nissan Pavillion is a nightmare. And we're down in the seats, so if it rains we won't get soaked like all the folks on the lawn.

Re: Any New Music Selections?
Indeed. I've only listened to the new album 2 or 3 times so far but I really like it.

Re: Any New Music Selections?
I just copped the new Wu album, but haven't listened to it yet. No GZA or Meth on this one.
Anyone heard of ZO2? They're a rock band from Brooklyn with a show called "Z-Rock" on IFC- kinda based on their true story (they played rich peoples' kids b-day parties while trying to become rock stars). Anyway, I just got a few of their albums and they're really talented musicians. |

Getting ready to head out to Nissan Pavillion for the Dave Matthews show tonight. The cooler is stocked! I can't wait.

Just saw IKE open for the Pat McGee Band, and enjoyed the hell out of both of them.

If I mute my TV and open my windows I can hear Incubus playing at Merriweather right now. If this was like 8 years ago I'd probably be there.

Re: Any New Music Selections?
Listening to the new Kid Cudi Man on the Moon album. Haven't enjoyed an album as much as this in a long while.
Very unique and different. Well worth a listen.

Re: Any New Music Selections?
William DuVall will never replace Layne Staley but I think he does a really good job. I figured they'd go a different direction with their music but, I'm surprised by how much they still sound like the original AIC.

Considering Cantrell has always wrote a large part of the music and lyrics I guess you can see why they still have that trademark AIC sound. |

Megadeth and Slayer. Their new material has an old school feel to it. I'm going to see them play in Richmond soon.

Re: Any New Music Selections?
You're about my age, and I'm going through the same musical changes in taste. Shinedown is a good band. If you're looking for something a bit more pop, The Fray, Maroon Five...O.A.R., all good bands.
The funny thing though, I keep going back and listening to those same 80's bands. As matter of fact, I just went to see Night Ranger and Journey Friday night in Greensboro, NC. The 80's are out there and in full force.

Re: Any New Music Selections?
Not a new music selection, but if you are into hip-hop, you should check out Atmosphere. Easily one of my favorite groups from the past 10 years. Great beats, good flow, and conscious lyrics you can understand. Also check out Sweatshop Union for the same reasons.
