Re: Problem w/ Cowboys giant screen.
The video board currently sits 90 feet above the ground, while the two Mitsubishi ads accompany each side of it making it 89 feet above the playing surface. The NFL mandates video boards must be at least 85 feet above the ground.
Punt hits video screen at new Cowboys Stadium - Shutdown Corner - NFL - Yahoo! Sports I kinda hope Jerry doesnt change it this year just because I find this absolutely hilarious. what person in there right mind wouldnt want to adjust it, especially since it sounds like it can be easily adjusted (as someone pointed out regarding the U2 concert). I mean is there any good reason not to adjust it, or is he just being stubborn for no apparent reason?

Re: Problem w/ Cowboys giant screen.
I'm just happy that now when we play the Cowboys I don't have to see that ugly hunk of scrap metal known as Texas Stadium. Though I do find it funny that the screen is capable of blocking punts. By the way am I the only one freaked out about how it looks more like a.......I don't know some form of mental telepathy instead of a TV screen.

Re: Problem w/ Cowboys giant screen.
ESPN is reporting that the screen was installed actually several yards HIGHER than what the NFL mandated.
But now the NFL is looking into it deeper. It is estimated that it would cost an additional 2 million to raise the scooreboard. And I would bet that the NFL would have to share some of the cost. |

Re: Problem w/ Cowboys giant screen.
If I were an NFL coach, I'd tell my punter to hit it as many times as possible till they raised it. All it will take is one five hour game for the NFL to get that thing raised.

Re: Problem w/ Cowboys giant screen.
Looking at the 'Skins offensive stats for the first 2 weeks of preseason I notice that from the 2 games played thus far, the 'Skins have had a total of 22 offensive possessions.
And of the 22 offensive possessions only 6 have crossed the 50 yard line into the oppositions side of the field. So yeah, I can certainly see your concern for punting. |

Re: Problem w/ Cowboys giant screen.
why would the league have to foot some of the cost for raising the score board? Mr. Jones was the one who put it in the way. and 2 million to him is like 2 million to Snyder, a drop in the bucket
