He was actually in the game and contributing earlier than the "3rd teamer" defense.

Marko looks like the real deal.

I agree 100%. I mean I don't think he's necessarily this year's version of Billy McMullen. But let's see some more out of him, blocking, catching the ball in traffic, running after the catch, knowing where the first down marker is before we get too carried away.

he's already done more than taylor jacobs ever has, and we talked him up for two solid years.

and he's shown more promise than devin thomas for that matter, as sad as that may be.

he didn't just get a lucky TD, he consciously set it up and showed real ups for that thing. if he can do that a couple more times, he deserves time on the field.

but talking about him being the #2 at this point is pretty premature. first he has to get that #5 spot.

That's basically what I was trying to get at

Re: WR Depth Chart

I'm not sure how this will all play out, but i think at this time next year, its entirely possible Mitchell will be ahead of Kelly and Thomas on the depth chart. If nothing else, the emergence of Mitchell has ensure that ARE will be cut after the 2009 season (Please, no one tell me his cap number makes him uncuttable - the revised contract he signed this offseason makes him very cuttable if the skins chose not to excercise an option to extend him through something like 2015 if memory serves me).

My early prediction for 2010 is that our starting WR's will be Moss and Mitchell/Kelly, with Moss moving into the slot in 3WR sets and Mitchell and Kelly lining up on the outside.

As of right now, I only see Thomas getting extended playing time if one of our other 3 WRs get hurt... which is a strong possiblility with Kelly and Moss.

Where have you been BHA? Did you have to serve a bid?

Did we manage to clone Gary Clark . I think our current group can be effective but I don't think ARE has the same explosiveness or talent as Sanders. Monk did everything well, block, run routes, catch, and was a quiet lead-by-example team leader, Kelly has some HoF shoes to fill there. Clark and Moss are a good comparison, speed-wise very similar, but I think Clark was a better route-runner and had a little more "nastyness" to him.

Haha, no. Its been a combination of being REALLY busy at work, the IT people monitoring our internet useage, and not too much of significance going on with the skins. Right now, Desire to talk about the Skins>Fear of IT people. haha. It will probably still be a month or so before things at work slow down, but I should be around here a bit more as time goes on.

These are pretty much opposing ideas. Thomas was just plain raw. Not at all accomplished as a WR.

Malcolm Kelly was light years ahead of Thomas in terms of being a high quality WR on film, but Thomas had outstanding measurables so he got hit with the "big upside" tag. If you watch all of the college film on Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly it's easy to see who was the far better WR coming out of college.

Re: WR Depth Chart

I believe if DT wasnt a former 2nd round pick that he would be struggling to make the team. The bigger investment comes first at any position. Its all business.

Re: WR Depth Chart

I know a lot of you dont care for PFT, but they are even picking up on Devin Thomas not living up to his potential and that MM, LL, M Mitch, LM, ML could possible pass him on the depth chart in time, as we all have mentioned.

Devin Thomas sliding down depth chart? | ProFootballTalk.com

If this doesnt light a fire under DT then nothing will. I hope that Mitchell does great and like most everyone else could care less about his college or pedigree. Devin Thomas did pretty good on kickoff coverage last year so i think we will keep him for a several more years even if he continues to show poorly in games as a wr. Some WR make very slow transitions to the nfl, and if Devin happens to be one thats fine as long as he can help out in other areas. Lets all hope that eventually we have all DT, MK, and MM all in a legitimate fight to be our number 1 and 2 one day.

Re: WR Depth Chart

Wait, wait, wait? How many catches do Cooley, Moss, and ARE have so far after only 2 preseason games? No one is questioning their production. Give it time before you start throwing guys under the bus. Last season Sinorice Moss had more receptions and yards than Santanna in the season opener. Who finished with the better season?
