He's older, but hasn't had nearly as many carries & injuries. Also hasn't bulked up like Portis. Betts isn't a short yardage back. As for his speed, I honestly don't know who is faster, do you? Betts was hitting holes as quick a few years ago as Portis was IMO. I know his #s are down the last 2 years & this year, but I attribute that as much to his limited opportunities.

If he has fallen off so much (and I just don't see that in relation to CP, who has looked slower this year) why did the coaching staff praise him this summer & give him the 3rd down job?

Actually, Betts has had far more injuries that cause him to miss games than Portis has, even with one third of the amount of carries as Portis.

Hasn't Chris Henry had serious injury problems? I could've swore he was oft-injured while in Tennessee.

It's heart breaking to think that Rogers could be a pro bowl corner if he could catch, Unfortunately he couldn't catch herpes from a Tijuana hooker.

really, "far more"? I thought back & you're right, he's missed a lot of games dating back to the spurrier years up to last year. My point though was that he's had a lot less wear & tear on his body, and he seems the same to me. Maybe he's lost a step but he hasn't put on a lot of weight like CP over the years.

Jones worked out with the Packers today. Don't think he signed though

Kelly....Where is Marko Mitchell? I'm tired of both Kelly and Thomas.

Rogers...His job is to cover the other teams WR, not catch the ball. So as bad as he is at catching the ball, let's all remember he's a DB, not a wr.
Flacco is probably the most improved QB in the NFL, last year to this year. I thought Campbell was a LOT better last year, but now, Flacco probably holds a small edge. Flacco is a top 11 or 12 QB.

I am not a stats person but: Ladell Betts

Betts hasn't had a good game limited carries or not in a while. If there is not hole Betts is not effective. I can say the same for Portis this year. But int eh past Portis has been able to grind out a yard even when the line wasn't at it's Betts. If he was that good we wouldn't be bringing in other backs and wouldn't have Mason on the team.

Between him and Rock they are pretty much not productive. But they are two of the 5 backs listed on our RB depth chart.

Any idea why no team has signed him?

The Skins better not give this guy big money to stay next year (I really don't think they will). He's had so many opportunities for big game changing type plays, and he just fails to make them time after time.

Sure, I'd rather he catch more potential INTs but his coverage and tackling is typically pretty good. If we let him go, I think it's a typical move where we could sign him to a decent contract but instead let him walk and either waste another top pick on a DB or HOPE and pray that Barnes and Tryon are ready.

See here is my thing w/ Rogers. Everyone jumps on him for dropping balls but would you rather him constantly get burned? I'd rather him hold his man down. That's what corners are suppose to do and he is probably our best cover corner.

I agree that Rogers is a very solid cb. Don't know why he faltered last year or fell out of favor w/Blache. Even when he's been beaten this year he was in position but just couldn't make a play on the ball (the johnson td in detroit e.g.).

I think they may have a problem on getting his agent to agree to much less $ than Hall is getting. I don't see how they could keep both at huge salaries.

Just saying he's not worth a big $$ investment.
