Why? Because every time I attempt to engage is a reasonable football conversation, many members here take one look at my avatar and go on the attack. It does not matter what I say. Even when I compliment your 'Skins, I get attacked with "Post season collapse"...."Cowboys suck"..."Die in Decenber". So please understand that I have attempted many times to engage is some good converstaion, but I get squashed every time. I have been a member of this forum for almost 3 years now, and I do not know what has changed in the past 6 or 7 months, but there used to be a better flow on converstation, regardless of "fanhood". But lately it has been a bloodbath. |

That said, right now, with the Skins in such an obvious decline, "good natured" jabs are felt more deeply. And we don't need to come here and hear that crud repetitively from y'all, we feel it more deeply every day. As for you getting attacked because of your avatar, duh, I am Skinsfan28 on a cowboy board, and I can make a reasonable point and one or two diehard Cowboy fans are going to hammer me, why cuz I am a Skins fan and my screen name proclaims it. Same for you here, and you know that. I try very hard on that board not to fall into the same cowboy hate mode, because it's their board. Same for you here. That's what I meant by respect. And no I was not kidding. |

Re: Dallas or Philly?
Point taken and recognized since my first ever post here.
But in my own defense, the only times I have taken "jabs" is when I have been "jabbed" at first. But I understand that, and I also understand that at the end of the day, it is just a game and just a little smack talk which happens everywhere. Not just forums, but in any sports bar or tailgate. If anyone wants to engage is reasonable talk about football, Im in. But if they throw a little smack my way, I am prepared to throw some back. That is what always seperated WARPATH from other Redskins fan boards. For the most part, folks would look past the avatar and alliance and have some good converstation. Thats why I have been a member for so long. I have tried, believe me. But if you are going to talk smack about another team, be prepared to have some smack thrown back your way. If you take offense simply because its a "Redskins Board", well, that is the epitomy of being "Thin Skinned". Too many boards in the Internet are overloaded with crap talk. There are two boards I have found that are not. This one, and the Cowboys forum I am a member of. Most of the other boards, both Dallas and Washington, are convaluded with nothing but unintelligent smack. You have some good members here, really. But there are a few that can drag this site down to the level of any of the others that I mentioned. |

Re: Dallas or Philly?
sandtrapjack, you're a one trick pony. You show up when they win, you disappear when they don't. About as fair-weather as it gets.

Eh, whatever team from the NFC East that makes it to the playoffs won't make it past the first round.
The media is going to love their Cowboy-praise orgy they are going to have this week.

Re: Dallas or Philly?
If you think that the line above is simply a "conversation starter" on a Redskins board, you seriously need to rethink.

Re: Dallas or Philly?
Guys Come on only two weeks for our first rival game of the season it's time to start the Smack talk.. it's all fun and good.
I've been a memebr here for years also and yes I have come with some memebrs that come with the tipical rival phrases we all expect no mather if your opinion is good or bad..but that's expected in a rival site. Heck some are even funny. I think like Sand I stayed as a memebr because I like to talk football and if I'm going to talk and learn about my team rivals I go to the source they might have a better idea of what I'm seeing.... and it has been helpfull in both sides I believe. Sometimes I learn some things about your team or change the perception I have about an issue or games, and in some cases many members have come out and thank me for my point of view even in your own team subjects.... I only bring smack talk when it's Rival week or when the team it's attacked but it has always been i nfun an nothing personal... .And I always come back when our team losses to yours to recieve my betting for all the Samck I brought during the week. look I know we all bleed or own colors and it's great to have passion for this game, but first I believe we all love football the most and it always good to hear the otehr sides perspective.... at least i've learn that. |
