re: Update: Ray Wright Named Strength & Conditioning Coach
Did anyone else hear the interview with Romanowski on The Herd about a year ago? He still thinks steroids/HGH are such a good thing that EVERYONE, not just athletes should use them! It wasnt too long after the "60 Minutes" thing, and Cowherd was obviously asking questions to give Romo a chance to say "steroids are bad, and I was wrong," but Romo gave just the opposite responses. It was so ridiculous, Cowherd had to just end the interview, very awkwardly.
Shanny is throwing his old buddy a bone with the job interview, that's all. |

I say let Romo fight Florio, outside in this blizzard , if Florio loses , he has to sing "Hail To The Redskins" in a Skins jersey and shorts for an hour ! We could hire Romo as a " consultant ?

Doesn't he have some sort of traumatic brain injury too? I swear he did.

From Romanowski's Twitter page:
I met with Mike Shanahan, Bruce Allen & the entire offensive staff today to present a Performance Plan.

here is his article on the tweet, i like the third comment Romanowski comes clean regarding his desire to rejoin the NFL | ProFootballTalk.com i really don't see this being that bad of a thing if it happens, but doubt it will

Take away the roids and there's no question this guy knows his stuff when it comes to training and nutrition. Trouble is, the roids are a huge black cloud hanging over him and an indication that he will go to any length to get ahead. Who's to say he won't go that route again for players he's working with if push comes to shove? Add in the fact he's a little touched in the head and I don't see the NFL letting him get near a team in a coaching capacity.

like in the PFT article his transcription ( Romanowski comes clean regarding his desire to rejoin the NFL | ProFootballTalk.com ) basically saying guys walking in not having ate, carrying mcd's, etc is crazy to me.. I hear about athletes downing this junk food and it's crazy.. for example Cooley mentioned that he and some teammates (I think in college) would have burger eating competitions and he'd come out and play just fine.. I think he said that nutrition wasn't a big deal for a lot of guys, didn't make the difference that people say.. then at a later date I think he mentions having a bunch of spinach before a game and feeling so clear and energetic If I were helping run a team every meal that they were around for would be made there, there would've already been massage therapists and whatnot.. recovery is huge in many sports but it doesn't seem that way for a lot of guys/teams.. like people were making a big deal when David Boston was getting magnesium drips, etc (yeah sure he might have gotten more than that) but that's not really a big deal at all, high level athletes across many sports will and should do what they can to get an competitive advantage as long as it's within the guidelines of the sport It baffles me how that still seems to be an aside to teams that want to be competitive |

re: Update: Ray Wright Named Strength & Conditioning Coach
Ocho Cinco is always twittering about eating McDonald's, he loves that place. I guess when you work out like these guys do you can get away with that.
But you've got to think there's definitely an advantage for those that approach nutrition seriously. I too am surprised more NFL teams don't take an approach to nutrition/training/recovery like Romo recommends. Maybe his input to Shanahan will pay off. |

Yeah, that high level of an athlete can get away with it more than your typical guy I'm sure. I doubt that it's as efficient though, I mean.. he may be great.. but could he be better with a better nutritional plan, recovery plan, etc? I'd think so.

i heard him doing a radio interview on 105.7 fan in bmore a few weeks ago. he said he had major head problems. towards the end of his career, he got into his car after practice and couldnt remember where he lived. thats when he decided it was time to hang them up. since then he has had major brain problems. he went to all types of doctors but doctors still dont have many answers when it comes to the brain. after spending a ton on trying to get medical help he eventually decided to surround himself with brain specialists and nutritionist to try and figure out a way to clear his head. he said he has had huge success in his own fight to repair his brain due to certain nutrients, etc and now has a company to researches and sells the nutrients that have helped him. it really sounded like he is all about health and very aware of the brain and concussions. he told a story where he was in the locker room after a game. another player was very lethargic and showing signs of concussion that we recognize today but were not well known then. he said there were no trainers or doctors aiding the player who was sitting by himself. roman got up and told med staff to check the guy out, med staff said he was ok, roman said if they didnt check him out he would let people know about it and if anything happened it would be there ass. med staff checked the player out, rushed him to the hospital where he was kept for a few days. the man has a passion and compassion for the beating nfl players take, maybe too much?

I think it's safe to say his "passion" for the game and everything involved with it screams of OCD.
