Portis, Johnson and Parker, that's three huge ego's that need pacifying. Will Shanahan be able to make it work?

Re: Willie Parker a Skin

I love this move .. always like WP for some reason when he was with the Steelers ... I think to what the Jets had going last year with 3 solid backs and i like the thought of having these 3 share duties ... think about Dallas too, they have Choice, Barber, and Jones .. why shouldn't we have 3 studs ? Out of WP and LJ one of these guys is going to look like a bad ass and have a monster year !

Seldom if ever will you see three star running-backs competing for the same backfield. I don't recall ever witnessing that.

I wouldn't call these guys stars, it's not like we have Chris Johnson, Adrian Peterson, and Steven Jackson. I think all of these guys have something to prove and have very little options but to compete for the job.

It's possible also that Parker or LJ won't make it past training camp, though I'd be surprised

Yeah I'd have to imagine it'd take an injury or just abysmal performance. All 3 of them have something to prove and now Alridge has to really fight to be involved. Should be one hell of a competition.

I think it's more possible in Parker's case than LJ though.

Re: Willie Parker a Skin

I still say a healthy and conditioned Portis is the best out of the 3 but they've all got their work cut out for them. This is some real head to head competition right here.

Agreed CP is still the best RB but competition is a beautiful thing, we only have 5 picks in this draft, we no longer have to focus on RB unless a steal falls in our lap. GREAT MOVE, bring on the draft bring on training camp.

This reminds me of when Chucky was stock piling QBs during his last year in Tampa Bay.
