Re: Annual Predict the Final Roster Thread: 2010 Version

At this point, I'm pretty sure Kelly is done. I mean I really wanted him to be successful, but he can't get on the feild. Its time to move on.

Without going overboard, we need to do what we can to get Vincent Jackson in a Redskins uniform. What do you think this might take?

Re: Annual Predict the Final Roster Thread: 2010 Version

Well, I wonder what we are giving up for VJ. Kelly, and 2 second rounders seems appropriate, but I am sure the chargers will want a first. So a second next year, and a first in 2012.

^ Looks good actually, except we could use one more tackle.

First official depth chart released

A few observations
Depth Chart - Washington Redskins

- Ryan Torrain is the third string running back over Willie Parker

- Colt Brenanz r gones wen did dis hapens?

- Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly are both with the third team. Armstrong and Williams are rightfully on the second team.

- Terrance Austin is a fourth team receiver and second team receiver. Hoping that I can say it's still early. It would be nice to have another 7th round surprise from UCLA.

- Justin Tryon is listed as the absolute last corner on the team behind the likes of Byron Westbrook and Ramirez Robinson.

- Jeremy Jarmon seems like the only third string DL that will make the team.

- SS33 was right. Cook and Capers are currently with the third team. Looks like they'll be on the practice squad this year. For some reason I feel like Robinson will make the team over Heyer

- Practice squad right now looks like it could easily be Cook, Capers, Austin, Morris, Paulson, and Hodge.

- By the way Dennis Morris isn't even on the depth chart, wtf?

Now let me explain to you guys why I believe the roster will look something like this as a former coach myself?

Shanahan has already hinted at carrying just 2 QB's already and Beck is and will not be ready. Risky? Absolutely which is why Beck will remain on practice squad. But this also allows Shanny to carry that 4th RB or 6th WR,which I believe he will do.

Remember, banks has been behind Center as well although in just wildcat formations,so if worst comes to worst and we have another body bag game and mcnabb and Rex go down...we're probably screwed anyways, but banks can probably run certain parts of the offense to finish the game. (Much like Brian Mitchell used to do for us)

Shanny will want 4 RB's..not 3. He lost like 3 RB's in Denver in a weeks time do to injury and his running game is his bread and butter...He's not just having 3 RB's on the active roster.

The only question is..will it be K.Williams or fast willie?
The other 3 are locks imo...Portis and Johnson are 2-time probowlers and he loves Torain.
but can K.Williams be out the 1-time aged pro bowler in Parker?

We'll carry 3 TE's if for no other reason because of the Tiger formation we will be using. (2-TE's in the game at the same time.) Kind of hard to run that if you have nobody on the bench to spell cooley or davis at times during the game if only for a breather.

As much crap we give Sellers every year, the guy plays hard and goes all out. Not to mention everytime I watch the kickoff coverage and see the same guy EVERYTIME smashing the ball carrier into the ground. And who is it almost 90% of the time making that smashing blow...It's Mike sellers. he isn't going anywhere although 35.

I don't think there's a necessity to carry 2 FB's when both Cooley and Davis can run the FB position if only for 1 game. Which is why Dennis Morris and Darryl Young are on my practice squad. Morris can dbl as TE as well.

We will have 6 WR's on this team. Moss,Galloway and Thomas are locks! I think Bobby wade makes this team and I think Roydel does as well. The question will be that final 6th spot and i think Banks gets it because of his game changing explosiveness. (And as emergency QB as well)

I do see T.Austin and Armstrong making the practice squad as well.

Only changes I made to the OP's O-line was Montgomery for Cook at Center and heyer making the team. He did a very commendable job at RT filling in for J.Brown. That will NOT go unnoticed. imo...(Plus he played LT as well last season)

D-line looks about right carrying 7.

I think LB's we will only carry 8.

Tryon sucks and will not make team...Book it!
We will carry D-backs listed.

and then ST's llisted...

Re: Annual Predict the Final Roster Thread: 2010 Version

I am going to say that Armstrong WR, E. Williams, and W. Robinson are locks right now. Only way they dont make it is if they stink up the joint from here on out. Infact, throw Lichtensteiger in there as well.
