Tebow leads April jersey sales (McNabb #2)

Who cares? He's just a overhyped rookie who still doesn't understand the basic tactical knowledge for a NFL QB. He's essentially a Michael Vick with no arm. The only time he'll be effective is like in the wildcat.

The character part is a good thing, but just because he is religious doesnt mean he is a good guy. We all know examples of people that arent.

Thats what I am not too thrilled about. How people just assume he is some sort of angel because he hates abortion. Now he is probably is a good guy, and he can support whatever he wants. Let's not just assume all those who are not religious, or open about their beliefs, are somewhat lesser than Tebow.

People's appreciation for Tebow shouldn't in any way diminish what other good guys in the league have done. The media has a freakin orgasm for all things Tebow. That's not really his fault.

In an ideal world they shouldn't, but player stock/perception is all relative. People who are "religious" are immediately portrayed as high character and good guys. IMO thats unfair to someone who does not have that belief. They are immediately viewed as lesser, all else things being equal.

Basically. Imagine a presidential candidate claiming atheism. The whole atheism = evil connotation is ridiculous.

I would just like for people to keep their beliefs to themselves. IMO, if that PFT story is true, that is a bit too much from Tebow. Having an after hours Bible study is great, but spending team time advertising it, announcing it (what he must have done), etc. is too far.

Also I dont buy the whole "this is just because he is a high pick rookie" argument. Bradford was drafted before him. Its a combination of Tebow's beliefs and possible Gator Nation weighing in.

I'm not buying an NFL jersey for another team unless it's of a family member or close friend, which doesn't look like it will be happening anytime soon. If I loved the kid in college I'll get a college jersey.

Seems we are at an impasse good Sir. I would agree Gator fans are a driving force in these sales as well but i think the additional religious factor is propelling an otherwise so-so jersey.

And I'm a guy who doesn't really like Protestants but realize that the only data analysis tools available to me is some truisms of statistical inference; namely, the demographics, after accounting for double-counting and triple-counting of categories such as "Protestant and Broncos fan", will likely not be too different from the national percentage of nominal Protestants(around 51%), but that category does not distinguished between the "lapsed" and "non-lapsed" folks within the category. Still, even though this is what I think the demographics would look like, this is speculation and real data analysis is impossible because I can't find what exactly are the actual numbers of the jersey sales are, just their ranking and that 30% of the buyers were Floridians.

Regardless of the religious angle he's an extremely hyped up player coming out of college. I think that probably has more to do with the jersey sales.
