I think Torain and Keiland Williams played so well, if they keep it up I think I could envision our backfield including Portis, Torain, LJ. With Fullbacks Sellers and Keiland Williams.

I sure hope they can Keep K Williams. I like Sellers, but this kid has talent.

Gorssman really looked sharp!! I really hope it lasts through the regular season, then we are really tight!!!

Nice to see Devin comeback and have a nice game after the shaky start. He is definitely a lock at WR. I would like to see more of Alexander in the mix, just to see if he has what it takes. To be honest I would like to see a newbie WR over Kelly. Oft injured Wrs are useless.

Defense:

First string D was exceptional, second was pretty solid. Our scrubs, well are scrubs. The Bills scrub RBs averaged over 8 ypc later in the game, so depth at D looks like our only potential problem if injuries start to mount in the regular season. Loved D Angelo's pick in the 1st quarter.

Special teams:

Gano has a leg!!!!!
Banks TD was kickass!!!
Coverage teams did a nice job!!!!!

Overall we looked very sharp. Offense was in a solid rhythm with Donovan and Grossman. We have a great stable of RBs, and the line play was definitely improved. I am glad AH said he likes the 3-4 now, it is good for morale and means he will play his ass off. H e will excel this year and will start earning his massive paycheck. Like I said above the D looks solid, but depth might be a big issue with a lot of injuries. I know the game was a blowout, but those scrubs on D should be fighting for jobs still and they let the Bills Rbs run all over them. Next season's draft priorities should have LB high in the mix, and of course a CB or S. I saw us at 8-8 before and I will stick with that just until I see how well we handle the hot Ravens. If we look anywhere near as good with regards to offensive rhythm, and can keep the new Ravens O in check for the most part I will give my usual 10-6 prediction. I am doing this just because I think the Bills are indeed that bad. They really do not have much talent at all.

The one thing about the depth of the D is our 3rd string Defense will not ever be playing in a football game that is not designated as preseason. I think we have nice depth up front, LB core, and the safteies. The only area that seems weak is CB. We have a solid core of 22 players on defense for the year not much worry about depth from my vantage point.

This team looked very solid in our first game and very prepared all the way around. I was impressed by the coaching staff and how well they had our players prepared to play.

I am going to say it now. This could be a special year if we can avoid injuries.

#36 Darrel Young played alot of backup fullback last night. He lead the way on both the Keiland Williams TDs. He is solid as well. I hope we can keep him around on the PS squad.

Dennis Morris did not play at all from what I could tell unless it was in the 4th quarter because I did not pay as close of attention to the game after the 3rd.

Grossman and Torain looked good. I'm little confused how Portis impresses, yet another chance for big play and he trips over his blockers. Hope he doesn't start, with better oline his blocking won't be as important.

Re: Players that impressed you the most after the 1st preseason game?

I wasn't as impressed with Grossman as some people were. It's the good Rex/bad Rex thing, and we came within an inch a couple of times to seeing Bills pick-sixes.

Some day Trent Williams will lead the league in pancakes. He doesn't just want to keep you out of the play; he wants to rub your nose in the dirt.

The run defense is a concern. The passing offense scheme, unsurprisingly, is scary good.

Torrain was hands down the most impressive player that I watched last night.

Keiland cannot replace Sellers. I thought I saw #35 Keiland Williams playing FB on at least one play but, it was most likely #36 Daryl Young instead. With the Shanahans, you never know. Keiland could be the next
Mike Anderson.

Re: Players that impressed you the most after the 1st preseason game?

McNabb drew a (completely justified) roughing the passer call on Maybin on a third down, which was really the "difference" in the offense from last years offense. Instead of two failed possessions in the first quarter, we got a failed possession, and a long drive.

I think that's who Donovan McNabb is. You give him a second chance, and he's going to make a play to beat you. And he did a good job moving the chains with Cooley and his own legs, which is the tried-and-true way to attack a defense. Or, at least it's all I've seen the last three years.

That touchdown pass was beautiful wasn't it? Backing up away from unblocked pressure and still throwing an accurate pass off his back foot. I'd imagine that's why he's here.

It is definately why I am so excited to havethis guy as our QB, and he is a good man and an easy guy to get behind.

I really think if he and Mike win a Superbowl here they both solidify themselves in Canton.

I think that's probably accurate. But I'm thinking they're both pretty fringe if they come up short here, and I think we've seen with Brunell, Washington is a place that can really hurt your legacy if you don't win.

There's a lot on the line this year, legacy-wise.

I realize scrubs are scrubs, but you would think they could give a better effort than allowing the 8 yards per carry. I know they are probably goners, but it would be nice to have some quality depth and have Shanny and the coaching staff have to really make tough decisions about who makes it. THe Ravens game will give us more of a gauge as to where we are. The Bills were just downright awful and we seemed to be at the top of our game already, but I suspect a lot of it was the Bills just plain suck.

Re: Players that impressed you the most after the 1st preseason game?

I liked what Portis showed because other than the run on 2nd and goal where the line got zero push/combined with Portis cutting to the wrong spot, he was hitting the gaps in the d-line as soon as they were formed and was regularly getting 4-6 yards a pop. On top of that he looked open on every pass route he ran with the exception of one. He just looked faster on his feet to me and he's going to need it cuz torain and williams looked really good at times and we still haven't seen LJ who has had a very strong offseason.
