And that's a very good point. And with that, did VY ever really have a chance? If the boss doesn't like you, there's gonna be problems.

He may not have wanted him initially, but I think he went above and beyond trying to develop him. In the end VY is just a headcase that would have the same issues whether he is with a coach that wants him or not.

I think Fisher tried his best to make it work, VY simply blew it on his end.

No way he could thrive with a task master like Shanahan.

He needs a coach who will coddle him to a degree, that's not going to happen with Mike.

Re: Titans to either trade or release Vince Young

First off I am not a big VY fan at all.

But that being said... I would be ok grabbing VY in a trade for AH.

We're not gonna get more for AH so why not take a gamble? Now there's no way I wanna pay VY $13M or whatever he's due but maybe some kind of incentive contract could work.

As for dealing with the Shannys... I think it could be ok. VY has very little public goodwill so fans will support the Shannys when they screw up the PR game again.

Let's hope this never happens. I have heard that Fisher and Shanahan have a friendship and there's no way he ends up in DC.

Vince Young is junk. Knowing that the Titans are willing to just release him means he will be released. He will get picked up as a backup. What a bust!!!

Re: Titans to either trade or release Vince Young

I'd rather have Rex.

At least Rex won't a) try to kill himself or b) get pissy with the fans.

Vince Young is such a head case. He's like AH without the ego. Instead of blaming his problems on everyone else like AH, VY beats himself up and blames his problems on himself.. Then takes it out on the crowd. Sorry Vince. The crowd paid to see you choke, they can boo if they want.

If he's going to be a pro football player, he better have a psychiatrist on speed dial waiting to talk to him Monday morning. I think the guy still has demons and I don't think he's worth the risk.

2010-11 Stats: Pass Yds: 1255 Yds/Game: 139.4 TD: 10 Int: 4 QB Rating: 98.6

Solid stats IMO. Yards per game is a little low but he's young and still teachable to a new offense. I don't see why everyone is so opposed to the guy? Not like we have anyone better right now!

I don't beleive that. That's just one mans opinion. There's never been a question regarding Vince Youngs maturity until he was placed in a situation where the coach did not want him. I'll guarantee you that Vince Young will have no problems next season. And he didn't go above and beyond trying to develop him after benching him after 2 seasons. Now Alex Smith, that's one person where the coaches went above and beyond (7 years) trying to develop him into an NFL QB.

You done crossed the line with your Alex Smith bashing. Only been in the league six years and every year he's had a different coordinator.
