Definitely pass. I don't think we would be interested anyway.

Re: Jaguars Release David Garrard

I'll say this: of all the quarterbacks who were available at any point during this offseason, Garrard is the best.

I don't see a specific fit here, other than the obvious part where he would be our best quarterback. But to be fair, we just made a difficult move in a direction away from that type of quarterback. And to be clear, by that type, I don't mean "black", I mean the specific style of passer (the Rob Johnson type) who gets the job done by holding the ball and relying on athleticism to avoid sacks and move the chains rather than beating a defense with a quick release or vertical passing game off of play action.

Garrard plays very much in the mold of McNabb and Campbell, guys who got absolutely victimized by an offensive line that could not win at the point of attack. He's really, really good at what he does, though. Some team will find a spot for him.

We've already got a QB controversy with two guys that have at least one full season of this system under their belts. Throw in a QB who's more talented than Beck or Rex but is lacking in experience in the system... Talk about a shit storm. No thank you.

I'd say so. Part of the reason that Blaine started that first preseason game was because David was dealing with back issues. I can't imagine getting sacked and hit and beat up for three games wouldn't get frustrating.

What really sucks is that Mercedes Lewis is my starting tight end in fantasy football and I have no idea who to replace him with.

That's balls.

Lewis could still be a good option. A QBs best friend is a big TE especially in the red zone.

Possibly, but I doubt he has much value as a quarterback to them considering they have Yo Gabba Gabbert waiting in the wings as their qb of the future. Unless of course they're sick of Gabbert already lol.

As I said before, this is more of a step towards moving the team to LA.

How so?

Jaguars lease with Jacksonville is going to make them moving a very tough move

I didn't know about the lease. I guess with the Tebow theory, they would need to bring in a coach that wants Tebow as his QB (McD?). Because I don't see Del Rio staying put unless they make the playoffs, which I doubt would happen with McKown or Gabbert.

^ I really feel like the Vikings would be better in LA and the Jags in Minnesota.

How does drafting Gabbert fit into that?
