Fans often associate a long injury list with bad luck, but never consider good luck when star players have healthy seasons. Orakpo and Kerrigan were really quite healthy all year. At least til Orakpo got hurt in Philadelphia to end the season.

so, should we have paid $10mill this year (to LL and OA) to watch gomes and doughty start another 13 games for us? that doesn't sound like a better idea at all.

That player would have been Dwight Lowery, Brodney Pool, or Mike Adams, but all are signed now. I also would consider signing a corner and moving him. Gomes is more than enough of a contingency plan for Landry at this point in his career.

Re: How will our defense hold up next year?
this defense will be just fine and better than mediocre ... we continue to make smart moves .. resigning Carriker (check) .. letting Landry be Landry (check) ... Get Jenkins healthy (hopeful check) ... Keep D-Hall (check even though he gets hated on big time) ... Let OJ go (check) ... umm Orakpo, Kerrigan, Riley, Gomes, Neild all solid young players .. Josh Wilson will be better this year ... signing Merriweather was a great move .. love this team

Re: How will our defense hold up next year?
Lol no. With their recent history, Doughty and Gomes would be starting anyway for a good portion of the season because Landry and Atogwe are rather injury prone.

That fanarchist guy who made the arguement that John Beck should replace Grossman during the bye week because of Grossman's incessent turnover problem, and the next week Beck was thrust into the starting role.
There must have been some validity to what he was saying considering the beloved Shanahan genius think tank made the move he was petitioning for on this site. |

Did you also give Grossman pneumonia during the bye week?

Re: How will our defense hold up next year?
offense will help the defense, less time on the field and more points to play a little more loose. Defense will be about the same stat wise, maybe a little stronger. It WILL NOT be worse.

A friend of mine told me that the Redskins were talking to Jameel McLain to take Fletchers place. Has anyone else heard that.
