Re: Redskins Minicamp (June 11-June 14)
I would love it if Chase Minnifield is the one to do that.

Minnifield isn't doing too bad for an overrated stiff that nobody wanted.

Re: Redskins Minicamp (June 11-June 14)
shocked he wasn't draft honestly... it's like a free pick for us though, so yay on that. we could use a good cb every now and then.

Re: Redskins Minicamp (June 11-June 14)
I know I know, he was projected to be a high round draft pick before he got injured, circumstances out of his control, he has the talent, good bloodlines, etc. I'm just saying it's a little early to be thinking he's good enough to win a starting job, let alone make the final roster. I think he might be a keeper too, but we won't know until much further down the road. For now though there's not much else he can do beyond what he's doing already.

Re: Redskins Minicamp (June 11-June 14)
Hey i could easily see him beating Cedric Griffin or Barnes for the third corner role. They are both really inconsistent. I know he is a rookie, undrafted no less, but i almost rather see him play with struggles then watch them play again.

Re: Redskins Minicamp (June 11-June 14)
I am baffled by Minnifield not getting drafted. I know he was dinged but it wasn't some career threatening injury. I mean no one thought in the 7th round that a slightly injured top-tier CB was worth a flyer? Huh?
I saw the guy play enough to know he is a legit NFL corner. |

Re: Redskins Minicamp (June 11-June 14)
he's slightly undersized and relatively slow but he's got the bloodline and the instincts

Re: Redskins Minicamp (June 11-June 14)
Chase Minnifield is having a good mini camp. According to one report, he intercepted a Rex Grossman pass and returned it for a TD. The coaches are surely monitoring this kid's progress. I hope he gets to see some time at nickle back this season at least.

Re: Redskins Minicamp (June 11-June 14)
I would bet that a lot of average CBs have picked off Rex Grossman. LOL
It would be great for this kid to make the team though. We are overdue for an undrafted FA gem. If he actually turns out to be a starter within the next two years, then I will forget about the 2013/14 1st rounders we don't have... Time will tell. |

Re: Redskins Minicamp (June 11-June 14)
Its possible he is not that slow. He ran his 40 two months after microfracture surgery. He ran it in 4.6 seconds. I think it is possible that he could be in the 4.5 4.4 range with rejab and training .

Re: Redskins Minicamp (June 11-June 14)
As a Hoos fan I've rooted for Minnifield for several years and hoped that we would land him. Go Chase! It's too early to anoint him as a starter but it would be sweet if it worked out that way.

Historically speaking, guys named Chase are the greatest players to ever don a Redskins uniform. I mean that's simply a fact
