Re: Redskins Expected to Release Coles
Our WR situation is a F'in disaster. What the hell is going on. Even if it gives us room to sign Pierce and Smoot that leaves us with JAMES THRASH at number 1....are you F'in serious????? We all know what happened with him as number one with the Eagles....nothing. Even if we draft Edwards who I personally have no faith in or Williamson I do not see them being a number 1 their first year. Williams might be the best to come in and make a contribution right away but he still is not going to be a number one this year. We have to at least trade him to get someone who could step in or at least a draft pick and with the cap room go after a big name like Porter and then maybe draft another guy. Taylor Jacobs and James Thrash would be the worst 1-2 in the league and then at 3 we would MAYBE have McCants who is in the dog house with Gibbs for some reason so he will be a non-factor. I just don't see how a team with an offense that played as bad as ours did will lose its top 2 WR's especially a big playmaker like Coles.......this can't be happening

Re: Redskins Expected to Release Coles
I hope you all are right about Jacobs because I haven't really seen it. I'm not sure to what you're all referring. He looked alright, but I don't think Jacobs should be the #1 receiver next year. That just doesn't sound like a good plan to me. Even if we get Williams or the kid outta South Carolina, I don't like the receiving corps next season. This sucks!

Re: Redskins Expected to Release Coles
Coles' attitude was very destructive. He had to go. He is not the same player who came here originally, and there is no guarantee he will ever be that player.
Look at the NE Patriots - they have talented players who play together as a team very well and very unselfishly. One receiver even played on defense for much of the year. That is the winning model in my view. If Gibbs thought it was hurting the team by releasing him, he wouldn't have done it. He's doing it in a classy way, but the fact that he is considering it at all to me says that he knows our team will be better off without Coles. No disrepect to Coles - for him to be on this team is out of the question. He is dragging everyone down. He HAS to go, or change his attitude. |

Re: Redskins Expected to Release Coles
i think LC's toe has a major part in this.
he is not himself with the injury. he could be done in 2 years because of it(yes i know i'm not a doctor). he doesnt want to get surgery on it. any team that gets him is going to have to consider the toe. he is damaged good. i dont think a team will trade for him. if he can give us the rest of hte SB back, i think we will be better off in a few years. but this does change the draft plants. btw, 3 average nlf wr's doesnt equate to one good one. |
