Re: Skins/Giants post game thread
Good:
1. RG3 - Absolute stud, still learning though. Made some rookie mistakes, to be expected. 2. Rob Jackson - The INT & the sack were huge plays, has stepped up in Raks absence. 3. Almo 4. Moss (minus the fumble) 5. Run blocking - Nice holes, making it easy for Morris to cut and go. Bad: 1. TURNOVERS 2. Madieu Williams - He's oblivious. 3. Josh Wilson - looks like he lost a step this year. 4. Pass blocking was spotty 5. A couple bad play calls on O. (second consecutive FB dive, option play with Niles) 6. Turnovers 7. Turnovers 100. Turnovers Side notes: 1. Injury bug... we can't catch a break. 2. Some really ticky-tac, POS penalties called on us today 3. Kerrigan was non existent today. Possibly due to the boat loads of missed holding calls?

Re: Skins/Giants post game thread
they were playing the short pass -that is evident. you have to at all costs have a safety deep there - I understand williams sucks but you cant fire him - someone has to be held accountable for that - Haslett.

Re: Skins/Giants post game thread
Its not Haslett. Players play the game. Wilson wws getting beat, so you put the double team on Cruz and they BOTH got beat...
Haslett called a good game... He doesnt play.

Re: Skins/Giants post game thread
Williams blown coverage, plain & simple. Didn't DVR it, but I believe call was Man-2.

Re: Skins/Giants post game thread
What shit? im not saying fire the coach, im not giving up on the season. I still think we are going to win the division when its all said and done. Hasletts track record as a DC and HC in this league are well documented - he is a loser. I dont think a single player on the team will miss him.

He wasnt playing the short pass. Williams played the short pass. When you call a double coverage its up to the DBs to situate the situation on the field. Not Haslett.. He calls the defense, he doesnt tell Williams how to make the play.

Re: Skins/Giants post game thread
Our offense and the long drives resulting in points basically kept eli off the field for the entire first half. Not sure I would say Haslett called a good game. Eli misfired on a lot of passes or it would never have been close. It is hasletts job to make sure someone is deep on that last drive. He failed.

I may sound like a know it all but its honestly not that hard. You know you're up with a minute and some change to go. You watch the out and corner since Wilson had inside leverage, but you play the deep ball at all costs. You play the deep ball and react to the short throw. You DONT just say, "welp, Haslett called short coverage so even though i see the leagues best deep threat running straight towards the end zone - I'm just gonna stay here in my zone." btw, i seriously doubt Haslett called "all short coverage" or whatever we want to call it. He's bad, but not mentally challenged.

Re: Skins/Giants post game thread
Lots to knock, starting with the first FG instead of running Morris. BUT, we were in it even given:
6 turnovers (extremely uncharacteristic) Loss of our starting TE Loss of Gomes (not a big deal) Loss of Fletcher at the end Ultimately, we had every opportunity to win, and our D came up with a few stops, thanks to TO's mostly which they continue to get. If anyone isn't excited by this team's future they are crazy. Not that there's anything wrong with that |
