Re: Skins 31 Eagles 6

Just finished the game on DVR and geez oh man it's nice to see a win...a win is a win is a win!!! I mean we can (rightly) point out the piss-poor play-calling on offense and penalties but regardless we won a game we should have.

Kinda feel bad for Reid no matter how bad I hate the Iggles. This is easily the worst his team has played in a decade, and like Billick said you're not going to find a better coach than Reid but he's probably had his run in Philly. Take some time and regroup. I still expect Reid will earn a ring before he retires.

Speaking of Reid, I wonder how much the death of his son has affected him this season in addition to lots of injuries mainly to the OL

Some good news for the skins, bad news for the cowboys:

Well, when you beat a team by 25, its always a good day.

Merriweather, wow. I didn't expect him to play that much today. He looked like he could be our starting SS for years. Its one game though. And people who went to training camp said he was awful, so we'll see next week (hopefully he plays)

Good to see Garcon back. All the WRs stepped up huge today.

We can all be positive for a week now

Wow. What a game. When was the last time the Skins beat a divisional opponent by at least 25 points? I imagine we'd have to go back more than ten years.

The second Dallas game in 2005 was a 25+ point victory (and one of my favorite all-time Redskins wins). But that might be it in the last ten years. We've no doubt been on the receiving end of divisional blowouts during that span, so it is indeed nice to give a little.

I was going through the history of their divisional games and when I got to that one I couldn't believe it. What a game that was!

Re: Skins 31 Eagles 6

Of course playing a rookie QB with a very suspect O-Line was definitely a big part of the equation, I think the addition of Merriweather really gave this defense a huge spark. He played lights out in my opinion, against the run and the pass. Hopefully his injury is not something that will keep him out for an extended period of time. And I think the offense will only progress as Garcon gets more reps again. Here's to a second half with no injuries, and keep this thing going in Big D...

He made a significant difference. Like I stated yesterday, our safety play has been horrible for several years----like worst in the league horrible----but yet people on this board seem very satisfied with Reed, Gomes or whoever.

Use yesterday as and example of solid safety play and we need to focus in the offseason in bringing in another playmaker at free safety.

MVP not named RGIII = Meriweather

He set the tone for the D. He was hitting hard, covering well, creating turnovers. It was like a completely different defense with him in there because he immediately fixed the defense's weakest position.

Thankfully his knee injury was very minor. It's reported that he could have returned to the game but they held him out to be ready for Dallas on short rest. Smart move.

My buddy who does not follow football too much kept asking me who is that guy with the dreads and where has he been.

For a minute I thought #21 was out there the way he was drilling guys. I'm not sure why he's been cut from two teams but he really played well yesterday.
