Ok I guess I'm a pussy then, not going to argue about it. The dude messed up and he will have to live with killing his friend for the rest of his life. He goes out and kills himself it will bring the spot light to he NFL again.

I guess Lenoard Little and Donte Stalleworth are already their in the sea. Oh wait both played after getting a DUI and killing a innocent victims. Oh and Ray Lewis who is praised left and right got a second chance.

I am not defending him; just saying a loss of another life in this situation it not necessary.

I agree with you to a certain extent, but i believe whole heartedly that Ray Lewis is the only guy out of the bunch who was absolutley guilty. Where as Stallworth and Leonard Little made horrible mistakes that cost lives, i believe Ray Lewis set out and succeeded in committing murder, and i think that's the difference.

Not here to argue about Ray Lewis one way or the other, that's just my opinion. Josh Brent will pay the rest of his life whether he does jail time or not, my guess is he probably won't do any time...

Obviously he will be guilty and pay with time served. I think public humiliation, probably doesn't solve the key issue of drinking and driving. Do I know the answer? No. But I do think its easy to look at this from a micro perspective and miss the bigger picture/issue.

He did his time. The circumstances around his accident were completely different.

Killing a innocent bystander is different than a someone who willing got into the car with drunk driver. Ok, doesn't seem the same to me.

Stallworth paid his way out of a longer jail term. Part of the plea deal was a financial settlement to the family.

Lot of "perfect" people here it seems

Stallworth's situation seems to repeatedly be forgotten

Re: Cowboys DT charged with Intoxicated Manslaughter

Looks like a whole lot of judging going on here. Stone him and cast him out to sea? Lol! Wow. I could easily see a couple of buddies going out getting drunk and making the mistake of driving. An accident happens..one dies and we stone the other one. Damn right! That'll teach that sob to kill his friend! He'll be punished and he needs to accept that. He's responsible for the death of another human being due to his choice to disobey the law and drive while intoxicated. I'm sure it wasn't his intent but it was his choice to drive while impaired. Hopefully he serves his time and uses his mistakes and his friends death to help others with substance abuse problems.

If i remember correctly The victim in the Stallworth case ran out in front of his car to catch a bus, totally different than what Brent did. Brent didnt mean to hurt anybody either. Ive certainly been behind the wheel after a few and im lucky nothing happened.

Re: Cowboys DT charged with Intoxicated Manslaughter

By wow, i hope youre referring to Stacee McWilliams using this tragic incident to get her 15 minutes of fame. And PFT for perpetuating it by using such a licentious and inflamitory article name and not providing commentary...

Brent was intoxicated and just in an accident. the car FLIPPED AND ROLLED OVER. McWilliams stated that every time she spoke to him and told him to get his friend out of the car, his reply was "he won't get out of the car."

Its blatantly obvious Brent was in shock. The idea that McWilliams and PFT are perpetuating the idea that he just didnt care about his friend is absurd.

McWilliams says she's coming forward because she doesn't want anyone to think Brents a hero - who the frack has said he's a hero?!?! No one. This woman is trying to capitalize on a tragedy for media attention and it disgusts me to my core.

Couldnt agree more. PFT seems to have become much more opinionated (if possible) this year.

Brown's mother wants Brent to attend memorial with her

"I was upset, but I realized that our youth today are young and stupid, and we were all once that age, and we've all done things we're not proud of," Jackson said on Monday's Piers Morgan Tonight on CNN. "I realized that everyone thinks they're invincible, and everyone thinks, 'It's not going to happen to me.'

"I know Josh Brent, and he's been part of our family since Jerry went to the University of Illinois. All I can do is to pray for him and his family. I know he is hurting just as much as we are, because (he) and Jerry were like brothers."

I agree. This article just gets people to jump to conclusions and make it more sensational. It's this kinda garbage that use to lead to mob justice. The guy was obviously shook up and of course impaired by alcohol. It's sad and was completely avoidable and he definitely made a bad decision that will affect him the rest of his life. The article is just piling on BS that tries to make it even worse.
