NFC EAST!!!! Hoooollllldddd mmyyyyyyyyyy D!!!!!!!!!!!!CCCCCCKKKKKKKK!!!!!!! (Youtube "Marshawn Lynch Determination if you don't know).

Very good win for our ball club, and hopefully that will change some of the media talk from RGIII to the entire team. RG didn't look to happy that he wasn't starting though.

Def a reach but I think Ponder was a pretty big reach too.

Guy is awful

Ponder at least is just 24. Who knows where he'll be in 2 years?

We know where Weeden will be after the 2014 season, which is out of the league.

Good point. Ponder has an upside but I still think he is terri-bad.

Re: Skins 38 Browns 21 post game thread

Jackson is expendable. You have to look at him as the kind of guy that another 3-4 team might give a 5/$25 kind of deal to just like they did with Ray Edwards.

If you are Jackson's agent, you'd be foolish to re-up with Redskins before the market sets. So many teams now with the cash rollover (and the salary floor) are going to be throwing around crazy money.

The Redskins can afford another Will Montgomery type contract to pay for quality depth, but they can't pay Rob Jackson a starter's salary. They can't afford that, unless they're giving up on Orakpo.

Hold up. Give me a minute. I can think of a few.

Off the top of my head, JP Losman for Buffalo at 22 in 2004. Tyson Jackson at 3 for KC in 2009. Though probably the biggest reach I ever saw was James Carpenter at 25 for Seattle in 2011 at a position where it's relatively easy to find talent later. Third or fourth round pick at best and the fact that he tore his ACL 9 games into the 2011 season didn't help. Ironically Bruce Irvin was also considered a huge reach for Seattle at 15 in 2012 but he's paid off this year.

Oh and of course lets not forget Tim Tebow in 2010 at 25.

You're right, i just hope we don't low ball him too much and lose him. He's outplaying Kerrigan solidly, IMO.

None of those guys would go undrafted in a redraft.

Like I said in the game day thread, I will gladly eat some crow here, because he did exactly what he needed to do to win. The first few minutes had us all nervous, but he showed an ability to forget about it and move on. The coaches definitely did their part in calling the right plays and helping him make adjustments, and it obviously worked. The Browns took away the run all day, and basically said if we were going to win, it would be on Kirk. And obviously Kirk was comfortable taking control and making plays, so kudos to him.

With all that said, I think we'll need RG3 these next two weeks so hopefully he's ready to go. Two more to go, and it's unbelievable to think that if we win these next two weeks, we will be 7 weeks removed from being 3-6 and looking like a bottom feeder.
I hear ya, gotta take everyone seriously this time of the year. I just didn't understand some people that were pumping the Browns up like they were the defending champs or something. Hell I remember back earlier in the year some were convinced they were flat out better than us.

I think we could get by with out RG3 another week if we had to. Hopefully we won't have to though.

I think ponder has better tools and has a decent shot to turn the center. weeded will need a lot of talent and a scheme around him to be good. Highly doubt he's gonna get that in the factory of sadness.

Kerrigan is both younger and the one person in an offensive gameplan you have to account for on every snap.

Teams have done a good job against Kerrigan this year and he hasn't always made the necessary adjustments to be great. But hes still the one playmaker on the Skins defense.

Re: Skins 38 Browns 21 post game thread

For the second round talk for Cousins thats going on, thats nonsense. No way we let him go for ONLY a second. First, he is signed for 3 more years after this one, and we have a QB that is reckless. Dont get me wrong, love RG3's style of play, but a quality backup is a necessity, and Cousins solves that problem for 2 more years on a cheap contract, especially for QB's.

If the QB drought continues for more than one year, his value doubles. If he shows that he may just be starter quality in another year or two, his values doubles again. He can be traded after 3 seasons and still have a cheap year left which is also favorable in a trade.

Its a risk to wait on him to develop, but if Cousins can continue to develop like he is, there will be a first plus other stuff at the end of the rainbow.

Lets not rush him out the door for a second and call it a victory just yet.

As for being first place in the NFC East... As for winning 5 in a row...

What a shock to be able to say that with only 2 games remaining. Guaranteed to not have a losing season and a shot at the division title with 2 games left is gonna have this town jumping. HTTR!
