Re: NFL Top 100 of 2013

Like I said in a previous post, if Alfred gets in, its this week, and indeed he did.

Alfred Morris came in at 64 on the list.

What does everyone think is going to be the likelihood that Doug Martin is rated higher than Morris? I personally hope not as Morris actually carried the team to some key victories, like the season finale with Griffin banged up riding on his shoulders to the victory. Not discounting Martins first year, but something has gotta be said for having the second most rushing yards behind only the MVP, a franchise rushing record with a pretty historic collection of running backs, and one of the keys to a divisional championship. Sure I'm partially biased with donning our teams colors, but I think I'd feel the same way if looking at it without my burgundy and gold shades.

Martin had more combined yards than Morris. He's more of a double threat. I don't have a problem with him being ranked ahead of AM.

And he had a bigger splash with that crazy raiders game.

Doug Martin vs. the Raiders: 251 yards 4TDs
Alfred Morris vs. Cowboys in the NFC East Championship game: 200 yards 3TDs

Both had a big splash game, Martin is more of a double threat, it depends on where Martin comes in on the list. But, like Matty said before. The list is a joke.

Alfred Morris against the Raiders defense: 326 yards rushing, 5 rushing TDs, 80 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD, 1 for 1 passing attempts for 37 yards, 1 passing TD.

He means Doug Martin.

Yes, Doug Martin is a better back than Morris. Doug can do more than than Alfred. Basically Doug can catch, Alfred can't catch that well. But don't get me wrong I'm happy Alfred is on our team and is doing well. He was ranked right were I'd put him in the 60s of best players.

Alfmo is better, just not as flashy. Better blocker, less negative yards, more yards after contact and played his best ball late in the year, no way would I say Martin is better. Also you cannot over estimate Alfmo's attitude, work ethic and humility. Would not want another back in the league

Re: NFL Top 100 of 2013

I dunno, like I said I'm not a hater on Martin, he helped my fantasy football team out on many occasions, and agree he's more of a dual threat and home run hitter, but give me consistency any day of the week. Morris had 25 more rushes lead to first downs (actually had a higher percentage of runs being first downs than AP @ almost 25% of the time) and I remember there being a stat line during one of the last games of the season showing Morris was the only rusher in the league with a 10+yard rush in every game. He's not flashy but he's reliable every time given the rock. I won't be too mad though if Martin is ranked higher as long as he's not a lot higher because as others have said this list is still pretty much a joke, but also because its just even more motivation for Morris to show he's not a fluke or a "system back" and keep churning out the yardage.

Re: NFL Top 100 of 2013

To me they are both on the same level of RB, the tier right below Peterson, Foster, Jones-Drew when healthy, McCoy, Johnson, Rice, and Forte.

Martin is more of an all-around threat but Morris has better vision, strength, and tackle breaking ability. I like them both, but if I had to choose I give Alfred the edge by a slight margin.
