Understand, don't mean to pick on you or anything. Like others said, there is no right answer and its all opinion based.

Hell, if your talking purely on best NFL player ever, it might be Jerry Rice.

And my best QB ever is Montana, but I think Manning (Peyton) has a very very good chance to be considered the best ever.

Another ring would help out a lot in that regard.

I think he's already in the discussion for best ever, but only having 1 ring will be used as a knock against him by some, fair or not.

And I think he gets that chance at a ring this year.

Unfortunate that he didn't get that ring against New Orleans, but then again, Brees is a great QB who definitely deserved at least one ring for what he's done in the league.

A name who I would put in my top 10 though is Kurt Warner. He took 2 teams to super bowls and has by far the best story of any of these QBs to of ever played.

If Manning wins the superbowl this year and plays well he will be number 2 for me, right behind Montana. Joe Montana has that Michael Jordan feel to him in championships where he was just perfect.

Right now its just him and Brady for the modern quarterbacks in terms of "best ever". And the only knock on Manning is he has a losing record in the playoffs, and every year people pick his team and he gets knocked out the first game of the playoffs. I'm pretty sure he has the most "one and dones" out of any quarterback in NFL history. And now everyone is jumping on the Broncos as superbowl favorites again this year, just like the old Colts. Its hard to overlook that.

Why not Ben Roethlisberger and Eli both have more Super Bowls?

Eli has led the league twice in INTS.

But I'm not a Eli hater I do think he's a top 10 QB in today's league

I understand CB, we all have our own opinions, that's what makes the QB debate what it is. Someone mentioned peyton as the best? I think a losing playoff record really hurts him, that shows he isn't all that clutch if u look at stats and Wins and losses.

Top 5 , my 5 Brady ,Rogers ,Brees ,Roethlisberger , Eli , Peyton is 6 to me playoffs and super bowls are what it is about.

Again here is the question is it regular season or post season play that matters. As for INTs so what Bret Farve led the league 3 times in 93 , 05, 08 it's what happens when you work with young receiver's or a new O .

How so? It's not like I think Jaws doesn't understand the QB spot or doesn't know what to look for. It's just that Jaws isn't very critical of QBs like a Steve Young might be (or Boomer). He likes to put his biases in his lists and it shows. That's why I said those lists of his are nothing but bullshit.

I know your a giants fan but can u really say u would take Eli over Peyton? I think Eli is pretty dang good but peyton is elite. He gets 12 wins a year.

IMO Peyton is beyond elite. He's the best ever. I know this is debatable.

It certainly is fair to argue that postseason success is a requirement for elite status, as Giantone has done.

But it also is fair to argue that you can't be considered elite if you are a turnover machine, as Favre was and Eli is sometimes. Okie, you have a good argument.

And here is the problem with this discussion. To much of it is about the rest of the team, just the credit is given to the QB. If we are rating based on winning SB's, then Trent Dilfer rates higher than Dan Marino. Other than a few Ravens homers, who in their right mind would ever take Dilfer over Marino?

Rothlisberger won 2 SB's on the back of the best defense in the game at the time (look at his SB stats, they arent that good). Brady won two SB's with a good defense, hasnt won anything since the Pats defense became average at best. That doesnt mean Brady has declined, it means the team he plays on has.

A QB that can lead an offense to 40 points a game but his defense gives up 50 is going to get a lower rating in this whole thing than than a QB who can lead an offense to 17 points a game but has a defense that only gives up 10 a game.

Re: ESPN Unveils 2013 Jaws’ QB Countdown List

Top 5 right now, IMO:
1. Peyton Manning
2. Aaron Rodgers
3. Tom Brady
4. Drew Brees
5. Joe Flacco

I could have gone a lot of different routes for that last spot. Matt Ryan, Eli, and Big Ben. I eliminated Ryan because he's only won 1 playoff game in his 5 years in the league, and he throws to a Hall of Fame TE, and two Pro Bowl WRs. Eli had a decent year last year. He's 2/2 in Super Bowls, but he also throws lots of picks. Big Ben is very good, but when he gets hurt (which is quiet often) his team doesn't do as well, but yet still good enough to win games. Its not like a Peyton Manning where that team crumbles. Also Big Ben may have 2 super bowl rings, but he was awful in his first super bowl, and in his 3rd super bowl appearance his turnovers were ultimately the difference from his team winning and losing. Flacco has always been a good QB, but last year he really did well and come playoff time he outperformed Brady for a 2nd year in a row. In the Super Bowl this year he played better than Brady, either Manning, Brees and very comparable than Rodgers did in their respective super bowl appearances.
