Re: Prediction time! the Pre PreSeason Prediction thread
This is true. And the pass rush had better be the straw for the defense alone.

Re: Prediction time! the Pre PreSeason Prediction thread
People constantly overrate the importance of QB's in the NFL. Teams do that too with the outrageous money they spend on them.

Re: Prediction time! the Pre PreSeason Prediction thread
Thats because in todays NFL, to win a SB, you usually need one of two things. A great defense or a great QB. 11 players for defense or 1 player for QB. Teams usually try for the 1 player over 11 players.

Re: Prediction time! the Pre PreSeason Prediction thread
Well I believe the qb position is the most important on the field, but I wouldn't sell rg3 short. Of course he needs to play well, but I don't put a lot stock in rg3 performance last year. He was injuried, played with an interior Oline that was a mess pass protecting, and had a bad relation with a pos, distance head coach. Let's not forget rg3 and the offense was constantly put in bad positions by a largely ineffective defense and a special teams unit that was historically bad. I'm more concerned with the Oline overall and Jordan reed's health on the offense.

Re: Prediction time! the Pre PreSeason Prediction thread
The lion's share of this season falls on the health of RG3, DJax, and Trent Williams- and the coaching prowess of Jay Gruden. If we get good fortune on those four things I say we make the playoffs or miss them barely just...

Re: Prediction time! the Pre PreSeason Prediction thread
I decided to take a super scientific approach to breaking down wins and losses... a coin flip. Heads = win, tails = loss. So here we go:
9/7 at Houston LOSS 9/14 Jacksonville LOSS 9/21 at Philadelphia LOSS 9/25 NY Giants LOSS 10/6 Seattle WIN 10/12 at Arizona WIN 10/19 Tennessee LOSS 10/27 at Dallas WIN 11/2 at Minnesota LOSS 11/9 Bye 11/16 Tampa Bay LOSS 11/23 at San Francisco WIN 11/30 at Indianapolis LOSS 12/7 St. Louis WIN 12/14 at NY Giants LOSS 12/20 Philadelphia LOSS 12/28 Dallas LOSS So there you go, the coin has spoken and the coin doesn't like our chances this year. |

Re: Prediction time! the Pre PreSeason Prediction thread
I think this year hinges on defense and special teams not being as terrible as last year. I like that Gruden is sticking with our run game and I don't see our offense being as bad as they were last year. But if our defense and special teams are terrible again, I only see a 5-7 win season. If defense is solid I think we'll be somewhere around .500, and if defense is great we could have a 10-6 season.

Re: Prediction time! the Pre PreSeason Prediction thread
Awful lot of people picking us to to beat the reigning world champions who made Peyton Manning and the most dominant offense of all time look like they didn't belong on the same field as the Seahawks. I'm going 8-8

Re: Prediction time! the Pre PreSeason Prediction thread
Totally different scenarios between the SB and a midseason MNF game. I picked us to win. My rationale, they are coming east, the Skins will use the playoff memory to motivate, and my bold prediction Griffin will shock and awe that game.

Hoping for sunshine, but packing an umbrella.
I think 9-7 is a realistic expectation. I have a feeling this group is hungry. |
