I wouldn't want him as a DC. Absolutely not! Not right now anyway. However, I wouldn't necessarily scoff at the idea of bringing him in to assist with the linebackers, either as a position coach or an assistant to that position coach. Fletcher has a lot of knowledge that has come from years of playing his position at a very high level - I can't see how that would be a bad thing.

But in terms of defensive coordinator, absolutely not! He'd need time to work himself up the ranks.

I wouldn't mind a linebacker coach. But not a DC

Re: New Defensive Coordinator 2015

Greg is the DC of the Titans, the only way he comes back is add a HC and I doubt that happens after the way he left here.

Ken Norton Jr. has been with Pete Carroll since USC, he knows how to run that defense and has the respect/ experience as a player and a coach.

Gregg is DC of Rams, with his bestie Fisher. I agree he'll only move on to be an HC.

Pretty sure I'd take him in a heartbeat over Jowly McGruden

We could promise him the HC Position once Gruden leaves.

How can you talk about "righting the ship" when you're repping a Ravens Banner?

You've already bailed out. It's like shouting helpful tips from your life boat as you watch us sink.

Re: New Defensive Coordinator 2015

Hire Todd Bowles as HC and let him decide who he wants to pick as DC, that is for some reason Gruden gets whacked.

Wade Phillips is the best most realistic candidate to take over a 3-4 defense... I would be very happy with him as our DC...

Re: New Defensive Coordinator 2015

NO RYANS IN DC!

Joe Gibbs HATES Buddy Ryan. If you don't believe me read this:

WashingtonPost.com: The Redskins Book: Page 172

Some excerpts:

"Joe Gibbs was mad. Sputtering mad. Red-faced mad. Punch-the-wall mad. The subject was Philadelphia Eagles Coach Buddy Ryan, and the more Gibbs talked about him, the madder he got. The words came in angry bursts, as if Gibbs were ready to deck the questioner, as if he hoped that Ryan would feel the punch in Philadelphia."

"I live to play a game like this one," Gibbs said. "I live to play this guy."

"If you lose this game, Buddy Ryan is going to call you a bunch of fat asses like he did last time. If you don't mind being called a bunch of fat asses, that's your business."

"That very day, Ryan had joked about how uptight Gibbs probably was, while he, Ryan, was loose and confident, knowing that he had a Super Bowl contender. Indeed, to help prepare for the Redskins, Ryan had taken his Eagles to Tampa, the site of Super Bowl XXVI, for a week of practice. "We plan to be back here," he said with a smile."

"When the Redskins filed off their bus outside the Vet for that playoff game on January 4, 1991, they were stone-faced and determined. Gibbs had injected a Notre Dame-Miami hatred into them — and on the Redskins' first play from scrimmage, he was amazed by what he saw. "The line of scrimmage just exploded," Gibbs said later. "Our guys knocked Philadelphia about seven yards back.""

NO RYANS IN DC!

Don't make me rent a bus.
