Morocco Brown didn't leave here with glowing results.

Re: A.J. Smith to be Redskins GM?
agreed. admittedly i dont know much about Brown .. or farmer. not sure how he doesnt get some blame for our FA and roster failures.
i do know Farmer drafted Johnny Football, which could be his death kiss. Cleveland Browns ‘better’ with addition of VP of player personnel Morocco Brown Ray Farmer always knew he wanted to work alongside of Morocco Brown, and now the Cleveland Browns’ general manager is doing just that. In hiring Brown as the Browns’ vice president of player personnel, Farmer finally is able to join forces with a former adversary for whom he developed a healthy respect when it comes to evaluating football talent. When Farmer was a pro personnel director with the Chiefs, Brown held the same title with the Washington Redskins. Often, when Farmer would reach out to a specific free agent he was interested in signing, that player’s agent would inform Farmer he was already working out with the Redskins. “It’s like playing battleship,” Farmer said of the competition he and Brown waged during free agency. “He kept sinking my battleship, which means he understands the game the same way I do, of guys that can play and perform in the National Football League.” Brown certainly does. He was influential in Washington’s signing of wide receiver Pierre Garcon, who set a Redskins franchise record in receptions during the 2013 season. Other notable pro player acquisitions the Redskins made under Brown’s guidance include cornerback DeAngelo Hall and defensive lineman Jason Hatcher. “The Browns are better today because we’ve added an exceptional evaluator of talent,” Farmer said. “In Morocco, we’re getting a tireless worker who is clearly ready for this role, as he’s had multiple GM interviews.” The Cleveland Browns’ ground-breaking offseason extends to every part of the building.

Re: A.J. Smith to be Redskins GM?
I know I'm repeating myself, but seriously who wanted to sign Jason Hatcher. That person should be gone. He had a history of being hurt in Dallas. We signed him, and he is a decent player, but he is hurt all the time. That guy is probably talking them in to giving Orakpo a 4 year deal also.

Re: A.J. Smith to be Redskins GM?
I'm sure if that's a good idea. I think A.J. Smith is by far better at evaluating talent and building a roster. But that doesn't say much for him as a GM. He did a lot of good things with the Chargers, but he's made some bad decisions as well. That is why he no longer works there. I think what we need to do is really focus on finding the very best personnel guy we can find. Get rid of this 2006 Tampa Bay front office and hire a more competent one. In my honest opinion, A.J. Smith, is not the answer.

Another oldschool football guy for the gentlemen's club. I'm sure AJ Smith will be good company at the dinner table with Dan and Bruce.

Re: A.J. Smith to be Redskins GM?
I think AJ would be better than Allen, if for no other reason then taking the role of GM from Allen, because It'd help with accountability. I understand that many decisions are made organizationally, but how can anyone give their best to two jobs simultaneously, I don't think they can.
I like the talent the Chargers had from AJ's tenure, but I'm not completely advocating AJ either. The Redskins need to reform the decision making structure, because it's clearly not effective as is. If he's the guy, I'm onboard. |

Never gonna make it trying to duplicate success other teams have had after their talent has already had their moment in the sun instead of developing our own. It's a copy cat league. By the time the teams lagging behind catch up, the innovators are already on to something else. Smith is rich, fat, and happy. What does he have left to prove that is worth 18 hour days? |

People want Gruden gone because he shouldn't have been hired in the first place. He's only got three years of experience as an OC. Out of those three years his offense ranked in the top ten only once. As we can see Andy Dalton is nothing more than an average qb just like he was under Gruden. If people want Gruden gone, it's because he hasn't done a good job. More than likely Gruden will be gone by mid season. |

He would certainly be an upgrade over what we have now.
