I think the failure of the league to adapt to online viewing is a big issue. The deal with DirecTV is seriously dated and way too exclusive. I recently had to dump my dish and I never realized how easy it is to just stream games somewhere online. God only knows how many potential legal viewers the league is missing out on from that. I think a big issue in the future for sports in general is that younger people want to watch things when they want not when the NFL, MLB, etc. says the game is on. It not that young people aren't or wont watch, they will, but they might watch their team's 1pm game at 5pm that night or on Tuesday evening. The leagues are going to have to find a way to measure that viewership.

That is true. My kids 9 and 6 don't watch TV through a traditional guide; they basically watch everything on-demand. To be honest I don't either every watch anything when it's aired over then a sporting event if I want to watch it LIVE.

I also think this "I want it when I want it" mentality could easily spill over to attendance. I think when your kids are your age how sporting events are presented (both live and on a screen) will be very different from what we are used to.

My opinion of ODB is documented.On other news do not be surprised if Reese is gone at years end the Giants are done,there is a small but aggressive ground swell to bring back Coughlin and to hire a GM released recently by another NFC East team.,this team has no desire ,no fire,no discipline and nether does it's coach.
